Based on Carlo's comments i wouldn't be surprised to see

Olsen
Coleman Keane Godfrey Digne
Holgate Davies
Doucoure
James DCL King

Richarlison Mina Gomes Siggy rested after the midweek game. He's mentioned Holgate for midfield recently so think we could see it. He's very aware that Gomes and James find it hard to play back to back games. Wouldn't shock me either if King started up top instead of DCL and Richarlison on the left.

In saying that a back 5 with Iwobi and Digne might happen also.

Basically i haven't a tits notion what the line-up could be
At least there are some options. The key is to pick the correct one.

very good point, thats why I watch football and not pick teams or play! I will go back to not trying to guess!

hahah we're all guessers here! I was totally wrong about the Leeds system (well, in that it worked when I thought we'd get totally overrun in midfield!).

Just feel we'll need that extra bit of pace up against Rashford/Greenwood/Martial down the flanks, but also gives Digne licence to push on and whip crosses in.

davies has shown some good effort and nice plays, i cant believe the hate he gets on this forum. davies would give a better defensive posture , rather have him than seeing richarlison doing dumb plays just for the hope of him ever getting back on his "normal" level.

in fact, davies is doing a better season than richardlison.. yes.. shocking!!

It is not hate as I have said before. He is just not good enough, has he scored? Has he assisted? How many Tackles? Passing accuracy?

It is unreal to say having a better season than Richie, they are in different sections of the play,. Richie promises more to win a game than Davies does that is the bottom line.

Godfrey praise

He is doing really well. It was surprise for me. I knew him, but not a lot. But I found a really fantastic defender. He is powerful, lot of energy, tactically intelligent, really aggressive.

Carlo on Godfrey

The personality that he has, the focus he is able to keep in every single moment of training, of the game. This is what surprised me

So Godfrey was a Brands signing then?? :coffee:

With Carlo saying he might rotate I suspect he might be 1 that misses out.

We have a LOT of games coming up and suspect Carlo will rotate a little most weeks.

Its not a slight on Godders.
I think Carlo knows he made a Rick in resting Ben for the Newcastle game, doubt if he’ll do it again in a hurry, be foolish if he did, very foolish, Godfrey is a young extremely fit young player, a warrior who thrives on playing, there is a few who have to be nurtured because of age and fitness playing a lot of successive games quickly, I don’t think Ben is one of them, maybe a rest would freshen and liven up Richarlison, he’s doing very little at the moment, well since the Derby game to be hones.

I think we need to stick with the team as it was for me. If Carlo wants to rotate then he needs to do it from the bench after 60/70 mins. That being said, he does seem reluctant to make subs that early or that’s how it seems from watching recent matches

Given that we were far too passive in the Goodison games v United and Carlo is looking for something different, I'd try two up top (King and DCL) with Rodriguez in the playmaker role, and a more compact midfield three - Gomes, Doucoure, Digne. Then the blue wall as our back four.
