It's quite the indictment. If you can't toss the records out in a rivalry game, it isn't a rivalry more or less by definition. United is no longer in the same league on the pitch. I have no idea how ten Hag even begins to go about fixing it.

If there's a saving grace for the dowager empress that is United, it's that they couldn't have designed a more favorable FFP rule than 70% of revenue. Given 2-3 years, their situation is very fixable. Whether or not ten Hag is the guy remains to be seen. Like Rangnick, there's no question he's good. Whether he's good enough to buy enough time through results, and whether or not he can convert on that time, remain open questions.
 
these lot seem like they are gonna go even longer than the redshite's 30 yr title wait. especially with saudi backed newcastle propping up as well

Man Utd’s issues become significantly less strained as soon as Pogba walks out that door.

The fella has been a poison chalice on the club since his arrival. Great Player, terrible attitude. Best Mates with Lukaku, who is also incredibly disrespectful, speaks volumes to me.

The rebuild comes at the right time, with £400k a week off the bill.

Newcastle will find it a lot harder to propel up the PL with the big boys, with PL drawing up rules on owner linked commercial deals in the works right now that were drawn up as soon as the 18 PL clubs minus Man City voted to freeze Newcastle's commercial activities.

Most of our true fans do not profess to be the -biggest club on the earth - not like your team who are the most self entitled fans on the planet , remember this you went 30 years without the title in the modern era so you have no room to talk, you had failure after failure manager after manager spent millions chasing nothing , dont worry we will be back and you you need to get back to rawk and the bellends on there we dont need or want your sympathy

I was working late last night and had TalkSport on as I drove around and they were trying to put a time scale on how long it'd take to get them on their perch.

It ranged from a year or two up to a decade. Unless they start spending wisely - a football person making the decisions - and shed the dross, it'll be a while.

Too many big personalities who don't look up for the fight, no real direction in terms of the football (is this lack of oversight?) and purchases based on revenue.

With the right people at the helm, it could arguably be a much easier job.

Have United ever been doubled by City and RS in the same season before this ? I have no confirmation,but very much doubt it.
