I think it's a strange appointment. Can't see it working out to be honest.
It only works if he's given the support required to make the wholesale changes to the club, which includes removing the gutless dross and buying effectively.

It was mentioned on TalkSport that he may have £200m to spend in the summer, to which they instantly said, "That's not enough." Really?

I'm not talking about instantly converting them into a consistent PL and CL side, but if they shed the rubbish and buy smartly (and prudently) it's a great start.

The issue is whether he'll be able to do the above because we've already seen that they're inclined to overpay and bring in players for non-footballing reasons.

If the things behind the scenes aren't sorted, it'll be another failure. God, you could easily be talking about Everton here.

Should add though, he will find it difficult to get rid of their awful players. Cant see him liking Maguire or Lindelof for instance, but both on big wages. Pogba is off on a free so that should help.

They need a good overhaul though, a top CB, CM and striker to start

Seems like United are doing all they can to protect Maguire. Can't remember the last time I saw him interviewed which, given as he's the captain, is extremely strange. I mean, they could take him out of the limelight and improve their starting xi in one fell swoop, so wondering why they aren't doing that. He's every bit as bad as Keane, just they, inexplicitly, paid 80m for him.
He said this on Monday during a interview, utter delusional.?

@EverTheOptimist a kopite tit obsessed with Man Utd, he just hates the fact they are, and always will be, a bigger and better club than his beloved rs.

Hasn't Klopp said he is off in a couple of years? They are going to have similar issues soon. Not to the same extent because Ferguson was there for so long and was so successful, but if someone doesn't go in and win something straightaway then eventually the team breaks up and do they get the right players with the right style in to replace becomes questionable.

Last interview I saw was when he had fisty cuffs in club abroad when his sister got stabbed, so got into trouble, made a weak quivering public apology. Should have owned the incident, got hassled sister got hurt laid him/them out, and who would not.

Think I've said this before but someone who lives near me (he's about 33) said to me that he has supported United through the good times and the bad. Broke my heart it did.
My brother who is 8 years older than me went to loads of their matches when they went into the old Second Division in the early 70s. By overnight ferry and strip searched by Plod because he was an Irish teenager.
