Manchester United

In a sense it was bad timing for us to start being crap in the 90s and 00s which is when the money exploded. If massive amounts of money had started flowing into the game in the 80s we'd probably be better off now, although 30 years of BK probably would've wasted that too.
We had a time where we could and should have marketed better but instead we went with Kenwright's "best run club in the land" dogma and celebrated getting relatively nothing as marketing wasn't important apparently, despite us having no money. Weird situation.

Two things I've gathered by reading about the Dan Ashworth debacle are: it won't be long before Utd fans are calling for the head of Sir Jim Ratface and that, given his part in the amazing longevity of influence at Brighton, I dearly hope Ashworth becomes out new DoF.

I don't usually watch Football Focus, however I've had it on in the background as I've eaten my lunch. A United pundit/fan was quite negative about Ratcliffe.

He said that fans were initially optimistic about his ownership and knew there was a lot of work to do, including some difficult or unpopular being necessary.

But up to now, there have been little to no positives regarding their strategy, and arguably there is now more uncertainty under his tenure than under the Glazers.

ten Hag was given a contract renewal, and then binned off. It's only early with Amorim, yet they aren't happy with the early signs as not a real new-manager bounce.

Ashworth has been removed, so the strategy may now need to change; ticket prices have increased and concessions removed; lots of loyal staff sacked.

Root and branch changes may be necessary and in part unpopular, yet it is only worth it if it bears fruit. Are people getting that feeling? He thinks not.

*Personally, people need to be patient rather than knee-jerk

Well mate, he's definitely pulled your skirt over your head, bent you over, and taken you for a ride!

350k a week! He's laughing all the way to the bank, I'm sure! 😂 😂

They have but they've done well to market themselves as a business so they're everywhere still. In a way, it's disgusting, in another way it's quite smart as they considered themselves as a business way before the rest of the football teams caught up.

I mean they were also very successful at the time, which helped a lot.
Florentino Perez has done the same at Real Madrid.
