For me Benitez is a decent manager who I feel can build a team over a few years. Don't think we can get any bigger because the bigger managers wouldn't want to start from scratch and have less resources from where they came from or are used to as it would damage there reputation.
Fonseca, Emery (without Monchi) are as much a risk as Silva. Benitez is the only proven one amongst all likely candidates but as I said earlier his Newcastle team finished below us so is that his reputation down the pan. Hard call, risky call no matter whom.

I wouldn't be against Rafael. he is a proven winner. I think most premier league clubs would be after him , he did well at Chelsea and has stabalised a very weak Newcastle team.

to be honest he is the perfect fit for Arsenal, who will go thro a tricky transition period.

if it wasn't for his links to them lot, he would certainly be considered for our job

he might work, he might not, but going on what he has achieved so far it doesn't look like we will be getting a man good enough to execute a game plan to rival the top 4 or top 6. what we will have is a manager who can beat the bottom half teams and lead us in to 7th or 8th.

Get a manager in within next two weeks and we have over two months to fix the squad before start of season.

Aim imo should be to maintain pace with 5/6 position in league by turn of year, then finish the rebuilding job in January to push on towards Europe.

Aim to have all dead wood out of the squad within 12 months, hopefully a large number of players gone this window.
