is Louis Van Gaal praise not enough for some people?
D'you know what was most pathetic from the Sky puff piece they did to help him out? The inference he made for being seen as the one who brought Richarlison in - he'd "wanted to bring him to PSV".
Yeah, 'kin right.
That's how under the cosh that feller is. Looking for any port in a storm.
They all had a say in it Dave ffs
Ha Ha.So, no evidence, and then a switching of the burden of proof.
That’s fine.
Ha Ha.
It was revealed in The Athletic that it was Moshiri and Kenwright from London interviewing both Emery and Ancelotti and then both their agents before an £11M conttract was offered to Moshiri.
If you think Brands had any substantial input to this manager signing you must be barking.
Hand on heart, can you see Brands (who wasn't even at FF having left for the night when Kenwright and Moshiri waltzed in and sacked Silva behind his back) pursuing Ancelotti?Because what The Athletic posts is hearsay?
It wasnt an impossible job.Pretty much my opinion mate. Brands definitely deserves a third season in my view, any calls to sack him are incredibly premature, but that last summer window looks worse and worse with each passing week and only dramatic reversals in Kean's and Gbamin's fortune will salvage it. Iwobi is directly out of the Steve Walsh playbook of what not to do when time is running out in a window.
Brands came here with a nearly impossible task of turning the Koeman-Walsh train crash around, and I fear he may have made his own job even harder with that window.
You are not looking at reality. You can't seriously judge Brands against what some were hoping for.
The days of a 60k RB are long gone.
We have a knowledgeable accountant who does not get to where he is without knowing how to get round some financial obstacles as a majority shareholder and said accountant is in business with a man whose financial clout is bigger than Abramovich. We have spent 1/2 billion since Moshiri came in and yet the amount of money spent does not concern me.
So £20-30 million on a young Italian striker is pocket change for Moshiri and his mate, if Kean fulfills his potential his value could conservatively double, as could Richarlison. Digne will have risen in value, Bernard was a free, Gomes will at least held his value and Mina will be there or thereabouts.
Compare those players to the likes of Bolasie, Sigurdsson who between them cost best part of £80 Million, Bolasie will leave for nothing and what maybe £20-25 Million for Sigurdsson at a push.
Even Gana Gueye who was a success went for £30 Million, personally think the previous DoF and management have lots to answer for

LoL.So your evidence that Brands was sidelined on a managerial appointment was that the Athletic said Mosh and Kenwright did the interviewing?
If it’s the article I’ve just found, by o’Keefe and Boyland it also says:
“[Brands] is someone Moshiri is keen to keep on-side.... “He (Moshiri) wants to hold on to Brands at all costs,” a source said. “I don’t believe he will force a manager that Marcel clearly doesn’t want.””
Doesn’t sound like someone being sidelined over the appointment at all.
LoL.
Moshiri `Marcel, we are having a meeting with Ancelloti, I would love to bring him to the club, what do you think?'
Brands (what he wanted to say ) - `Errr, to be honest I was looking at younger managers with a philosophy that we could integrate into all teams throughout the club'.
Brands (what he did say) - `Oh yes Farhad, hes a top class manager'.
One more like last year and the drums will start pounding. This Summers transfer dealings will be very telling.
Viva La Brands.
It must be the voices in his headThats a really interesting dialogue that you’ve just imagined there.
Keep me updated on any other conversations that you imagine, as it was fascinating.
Still don't know why exactly it's controversial to say he did a poor job last summer.
The results are there for all to see. It wasn't good enough and he's responsible.
There's no need to go OTT and compare him to Walsh but his signings from that window have all failed to have a positive impact so far.
