Im not saying he came into a stable job post Walsh - but in the 2 summer windows only Richarlison & Digne you could argue have been good enough to have us push for the top 6/7 and we all know Silva would have played a big part in the Richy move.

Last summers business was as bad as Walsh gate - £115 million wasted on utter tosh.

Marcel Brands has explained that Everton will not be embarking on a spending spree in the upcoming transfer window.

The coronavirus pandemic has introduced a number of important questions to football, including ones centred on how the effects of the virus will affect potential signings for clubs in the future.

While there is an understanding the Blues do need to strengthen a number of crucial areas of their squad, Brands has advised there will be no spending spree at Goodison Park.

"It won’t be a big-spending summer. It’s not a question of ownership or wealth. As a club, you have to deal with the financial parameters of the Premier League."

An owner can’t say I’m doing 50 or 100 million extra. It’s about the budget. You also have to deal with Financial Fair Play when it comes to investments.

"A lot has changed already. We didn’t plan a transfer window this summer with five or six major purchases. We want to strengthen the team in two or three positions and have no extreme wishes. We are no longer in the phase of crazy names.

I didn’t say he bought him. If the best you can do to big up his sales Is mention someone we took a massive ffp hit on, you’d be better just keeping quiet really. I’m not saying he should have got more by the way, just that it really isn’t an impressive deal.

The comments are concerning I think. It’s not his fault, obviously, but I don’t see how 2-3 players who aren’t big names can push us on. I’d say 4 positions are in desperate need of improvement , I’d struggle to see us pushing the top 6 without improving all of them.
