2019/20 Marcel Brands

This has been the line for about two or three seasons. We couldn’t get rid of the crap then and we won’t be getting rid of it now, they are that bad.

With the FFP being merged this and next season we can sell for peanuts and benefit from the full wages amount over 2 years now.

Also, players have one year less on their deals.

We aren’t even like the bargain basement or Lidl or Aldi though, they’ll be getting a crap player for a crap price. I just can’t see people such as Sandro, Walcott, Schneiderlin (that “move” seems to have died a death) going anywhere until their contracts are up

schneiderlin is supposedly doing a medical this weekend.

valladolid have said they want sandro.

how have I read that totally different to you?

He says they hadn’t planned 5-6 players incoming.

It looks like a summer or very little activity incoming but a lot outgoing.

We clear the rubbish our we are still left with a bang average squad which he’s now had a big hand in creating.

I knew he always wanted to have summer window were we brought in 1-3 players of quality but we aren’t at that stage yet maybe next summer but at the moment this team is very average.

he said we had a transfer window planned with 5 or 6 major purchases. Thats for 2 or 3 positions.

i took it to mean (very loosely) 1 RW, 2CM, 2 CB.

Five or six is the right number we need and hopefully all of those wages can be offset by getting rid of all the fringe he says there's 10 or 11 here we could get rid of. If it wasn't for their wages I think it wouldn't be too hard, I just hope the whole situation will help us. Teams will be looking at some of our players and thinking maybe i.e. Bolasie for £5m could be a risk worth taking.

As we've seen with the schneiderlin fee, we were going to try and offload them all on small fees anyway.

Bolasie and others with 2 years or less on deals we can give away for peanuts as this and next summer are counted as one window.

I reckon there will be players going out at pocket change to get the wages off the books.

99% will believe Brands as its more negative.

Ancelotti’s interview will be seen as in the same bracket as the pissed up old guy from the fast show.

Good old elpivote and the esk can’t tweet quick enough when a negative story hits. Funny not one tweet by them about the Ancelotti interview

That El Pivote is a bad crab.

He acts like he knows loads but only says things like.

“Walcott staying”.

I think what he might be saying is any spending has to be funded through sales and we need two or three players in. Makes sense really. May be why we are looking at frees and loans and maybe a few cash purchases.
Well unless he’s selling Digne, then we won’t be getting much, as we can probably generate 50mil if we are very lucky. And that’s not getting you 3 quality players.

And the only free’s we can attract are eitter very young players with potential, old players past their best ( Silva) or average players like Fraser.

Again how many top class players will be available for loan. And the best ones like a coutinho, will have probably to much competition for us. Hopefully he’s using it, to help us get value in the market.

I’m not sure they’ve contradicted each other have they? People assumed when Ancelotti said we’d add to the squad that he meant splashing the cash, but he didn’t say that. Brands is saying we’ll add to the squad but not much. It’s just clarification if anything.

If they did contradict each other I’d believe brands though, not because it’s negative but because he’s both on the board and the one who’s job it is to do the deals.

Just said Ancelotti on board with Brands plan lol, this is not a lol that it isn’t true, because im sure it is. Just to the fact he think he knows

Like he’s in the club with Moshiri & Usmanov.
His information will come from small time agents

If you want to piss your pants over a transfer window lad, feel free lol

you come across like a toddler who didnt get the toy they wanted for christmas
Yay a new record for earliest bed wetting comment of the summer, good work mate!

Every year sensible people say not sure we’ve done enough to challenge the top 6, and hero worshippers like you say are you mad we’ve won the window lad we’re going to win the lot, and then we scrape into the top 10 and you mumble about ffp and 5 year plans and dead wood. Rinse and repeat.

Just saw the Echos translation:

Marcel Brands has explained that Everton will not be embarking on a spending spree in the upcoming transfer window.

The coronavirus pandemic has introduced a number of important questions to football, including ones centred on how the effects of the virus will affect potential signings for clubs in the future.

While there is an understanding the Blues do need to strengthen a number of crucial areas of their squad, Brands has advised there will be no spending spree at Goodison Park.

"It won’t be a big-spending summer. It’s not a question of ownership or wealth. As a club, you have to deal with the financial parameters of the Premier League."

An owner can’t say I’m doing 50 or 100 million extra. It’s about the budget. You also have to deal with Financial Fair Play when it comes to investments.

"A lot has changed already. We didn’t plan a transfer window this summer with five or six major purchases. We want to strengthen the team in two or three positions and have no extreme wishes. We are no longer in the phase of crazy names.

Now weve seen that it wont be 5 or 6 signings and just players for 2 or 3 positions.

If we take him at his word then it appears to be

Pickford / Lossl / Virginia
Kenny / Coleman
Mina / Keane / Holgate / +1
Walcott / +1
Gomes / Delph / Davies / Gbamin / +1
Iwobi / Bernard
DCL / Richarlison / Kean / Gordon

My guess is that those 3 players would be fee signings with anything else depending on further sales of any of the above players.

Im fine with that. We clear out the deadwood and bring in 3 starters.
