Neither was Iwobi.
Care to back this up with some facts?Neither was Iwobi.
So your defence of him is that he decided not to do his job at all, and delegate responsibility to somebody junior to him, making his own position completely unnecessary? You see I question how much was actually him and how much was Silva’s influence. I honestly doubt we’d have paid £28m on Iwobi with any other manager, we’d have given up on Zouma rather quickly (and I suspect that’s what Brands was trying to do anyway) and Rojo would not have been on the radar as we’d have had the target in
The only signings that I see that have his stamp on were Kean and Gbamin, and neither could have truly foreseen how either turned out back in August

Because it’s what you said. You’re basically saying it’s silva’s fault, despite the fact there’s no evidence at all to back it up. It’s a bit mad to be honest, and I don’t believe there’s any truth to it at all, but if there was, it would just mean brands hadn’t done his job.Where did you get that from what I said? It's not out the realm of possibility that Silva made clear what players he wanted, as is the right of a manager working with his DoF, he was still pushing for Zouma despite Chelsea repeatedly saying no

I don’t think there’s any verified evidence of that is there? It’s like you’ve just decided that some vague rumours are facts because they fit with what you want to believe. It might be right like, but it just seems a bit mad to assume it is, because it’s not the most logical conclusion to come to by a long shot.Sigh, I wasn't blaming Silva solely, but he was the one insistent on getting Zouma back no matter what, Chelsea offered us Tomori instead (which was pulled because Luiz wanted to go to Arsenal) and Brands had a back up lined up from Torino plus there was the deadline day move for Rojo which was pulled after United decided they wanted a transfer fee rather than loaning him. So either Brands blew it or his manager blocked his business by not being on the same page

Basically all we know is that we wanted a new centre half and chased one all summer, only for it to turn out the one we were trying to push down the pecking order was actually the best one we had.
