Brands was meant to be the man who brought a new model to the club. Creatre a new playing style and laying down the foundations for years to come.

Two years later we're worse off than when he began. He's used up a lot of time and money to prove he cant hack a job in the PL. He'll be binned. No question of that for me.

We know also he's been here two years and we've seen two managers - neither of whom he hired.

His academy work? I dont know. Has he done anything there? Ive asked all day and all I get is claims rather than facts.

In his time here I'd give him 3/10...and Digne's purchase accounts for most of that.

He's a blagger. From a poor league and well out of his depth but determined to ride some image projection of a man in charge and capable. On both counts that is incorrect.

As I say, 9 months left on this feller's contract and no movement to secure his "services" beyond June 2021. Says it all.

No one actually knows what happens with transfers. This thread is full of he was his signing, he was someone else’s signing. And then huge paragraphs detailing job descriptions like they wrote them themselves, then interviewed the DOF themselves. It’s all based on the odd paragraph someone has found somewhere in the media but no one actually knows the roles in anybody when it comes to the signings. My issue has always been the role rather than the guy. I’ve always known the buck stops with the manager when it comes to signings. I’m not gonna slag brands off here but if anyone thinks for longer than one tiny moment, that James Rodriguez signs for us without Ancelotti. And that he has not persuaded him to sign, then you’re deluded. I just love that phrase of “Ancelotti never signs his own players, he’s always had a DOF”. By that notion then, three DOFs have all scouted James Rodriguez coincidentally whilst CA has been in charge. Coincidences are never coincidences. It’s his pick and then the team make it happen. Maybe we should just congratulate the whole board on getting it done.

IMO Ancelotti has seen the past two years worth of signings by Brands and been far from impressed. He's taken the reigns on the major signings for key areas. It's his reputation on the line and I dont blame him for dominating the summer transfer plans.

Brands is done. He'd have been tied down for a few more years by now if he'd done a reasonable job.

I dnt think so. If you're James, are you persuaded come to Everton because Brands wants you?

People can talk Walsh down all they want (and Ilm not going to try too hard to defend his time here). However, he's made a bigger mark on football than Brands ever will.

They are all young players except Delph who was signed as stop-gap for a relatively small fee.

Only when the cycle of Walsh's signings have gone out the club can you truly say is the club better or worse under Brands.

Just sit back and see what the man does, this need to get rid of everyone attitude after 5 minutes is very Newcastle/West Hammy. Should be ashamed of that.

When he first came, everyone unanimously thought it would take 3-5 windows to sort the crap out, given that it's proving quite difficult to move on the dross who earn big money for their talent, I think he is on track.

The manager after seeing the end of the season and the state of the midfield, has got together with his DoF and decided that getting players in the manager knows and trusts is the way to go this window.

Does it matter about semantics, we are getting class players is for a change and look to be finally heading in the right direction...Together.

Once the cycle of Koeman signings have gone he can start on getting the dross he's brought into the club.

Last summer " He takes what he wants " after he completed the Kean deal. The man could do no wrong for a few weeks and then you turned on him.

For what its worth and what Brands has said in the past few months these 3 signings go against what he has said. These signings are what Carlo wants and I'm 100% behind that.
