He havent done anything yet, but I love him already.

If it means giving young players a chance then I’m all for not having a huge amount of players coming in. The positions I saw as needing reinforcement were LB, CB and CM. We’ve been linked heavily with these and still have options in the current squad which means we don’t have to overpay if we don’t want to.

If next season sees Lookman Vlasic Holgate Davies Baningime Dowell get more game time because we haven’t blocked their route to the first team then that might be a good thing.

We managed to finish 8th with Koeman and BFS with a group of idiots who can't pass a ball, It can't get worse.

We had decent players but a chronic manager. And this league is atrocious beyond the top 7 or so.

Let's concentrate on getting a lot of quality into the club and de-emphasise about how many need to go.

Think he meant we can still finish 7th/8th even if we cull and don’t purchase.

You still don't like this policy to free up funds before spending them then?

Selling players you don’t want and buying players you need is what all clubs do. Except when Everton do the first part of this before the second some of the fanbase wet their pants. There inevitably will be incomings before the season starts and we’ll inevitably shift some more deadwood meaning we will start the season in better shape than last year.

Look at the window closing date. It's about 5 weeks or less till it slams shut. You know what will happen: wait and wait to get bodies out and then a dash to the last minute to get a player in...then a sigh and a "we go with what we've got...we can spend in January" line spun.

But thats what happens at any football club. There are periods of high expenditure and times of frugal operations.

I prefer to think of it as trimming the fat of a really nice piece of meat and using the excess to add to somewhere else in the meal. In this case dripping for the Yorkshire Puddings.

Its a long game that will take 2-3 windows before we start to see the end result taking place. If a few coaches have to go on the way then I can accept that as long as we all can see s clear direction taking place.
