The Peter principle

A concept in management which observes that people in a hierarchy tend to rise to their "level of incompetence".

I.e. an employee is promoted based on their success in previous jobs until they reach a level at which they are no longer competent, as skills in one job do not necessarily translate to another.

I'm liking Brands more and more, he seems honest and has realistic long term goals for the club, and that once the transfer window shut he started working with the acadamy hopefully he will get it right as we seem to have been signing "one for the future" for about 20 years now with very few making it to the first team. Apparently he also told Moshiri that if he was expecting success this year then he wouldn't come to the club as its going to take longer, i hope the fans will realise this too and not start turning on everyone in the event of a few bad results.

It is refreshing and gives us fans an insight of the workings. The conspiracy theories and pure conjecture has been nullified in his brief. What can we do now? We can't make things up so debate has gone out the window lol. Like I said it is nice to know how the dealings went and puts to bed things like Mina didn't want to join us etc.

I'm inclined to think the less we hear from him, the better it is. Occasions like the Annual General Meeting are a good forum for him to address fans and talk about general direction.

But I'm delighted with the work done in the window, I am very impressed with Brands so far in accomplishing what was achieved in such a short space of time and under difficult circumstances.

It was good to hear Silva in the presser last week praising the support received at all levels. It is he that is/should be the face of the club, as the manager.

It's easy to get carried away but Brands has given me a lot of optimism, if he and they can build on the work done so far.
