Everton clears way free for Marcel Brands

The English league ended on Sunday and Everton immediately began the dismantling of his technical staff after a turbulent season.

Manager Sam Allardyce is about to be fired. Also director of Football Steve Walsh is expected to quickly clear the field. The club leadership is thus paving the way for new people, including Marcel Brands. PSV's technical manager has been talking to Everton about the job of director of Football for a while and his departure from Eindhoven is now coming close.

Everton wants to be a technical director who can compose a better selection with the money of his wealthy investor Farhad Moshiri. Since the summer of 2016, Everton spent some 288 million euros on players, but the club still remains in the top of the Premier League.

The Portuguese Marco Silva will be the new trainer. He was dismissed from Watford in January.

I think he is only leaving that role but will still be at the club doing something else, hopefully nothing that involves the first team squad, and everything that involves cleaning toilets at Finch Farm

I'm surprised it wasn't done yesterday with the board announcement. This role should have a seat on the board in my opinion.

Dont want Brands coming in and having to fight off questions about the wastes of space above... Sack them, announce Brands then announce a manager end of the week.

Transfer window opens tomorrow, he has to be in today or first thing tomorrow morning. Can’t afford to mess about with a shortened window and WC to contend with.

Manager has to come in very shortly after, if not at the same time, so that the work can begin sharpish.

If it’s gonna be Silva then you would hope Brands has OK’d it. I want this director of football to be a proper director of football, otherwise what’s the point in having one.
