This. I expect it to be announced after he’s sacked. Firstly as a (another) “new era” type thing and secondly to deflect a bit of flack from the whole Allardyce thing.

It could be but if we hire Silva/A. N. OTHER before (if) Brands signs then we have yet again done it the wrong way around. The DOF should sign off on the manager as someone who will implement the style and personnel that they dictate. Surely they need lengthy conversation first to understand if the chemistry between them is right for that.

Exactly the same mistake we made last time and we ended up with the power the wrong way around.

If not you end up with squads full of both their signings and no agreed style to implement.

All of these conversations could well have already happened and if Brands is coming in he may have already approved the incoming manager. Obviously we have no way of knowing but it could have been the way it happened

You do realise this is Everton we are talking about here!

I'm not saying for one second that brands would want Allardyce so he could be sacked at any point. I doubt very much he has had time while working for PSV to draw up a shortlist of managers and interview them all. That is what should happen. Brands in first then he would need some time to do the above. Surely the players that maybe are available this summer also change decisions, some managers may get more out of certain characters etc. It his head on the chopping block so if I were him I would at least want it to be off the back of decisions I had made.

It is mate and thats why its pie in the sky but just putting it out there as a possibility. Just blind hope that we have started to learn our lesson and actually plan rather than scattergun and panic.

I think, Allardyce and Walsh will be announced they're getting the boot at the same time, and Brands and Silva will be announced together. We have no idea what has been happening behind the scenes
