We have one CF, one RB, APPARENTLY one LB, we are an injury away from having the same terrible CMs we had last year.

He's left us short in places multiple times.

Well for a club that has made loses of 300m in the last 2 years.

Well for a club that has made loses of 300m in the last 2 years.

At some point, we have to start planning around the return of FFP, in order to avoid having to sell our most marketable assets to get out of jail. You never want to be in a situation where teams know you must sell.

A twelve month suspension of FFP does not make current spending free of ultimate FFP consequences, so we do have to address that deficit. We may well have the money, but spending it might set us up for disaster later.

Until we get lots of dross off the books I suspect Marcel’s hands are tied. He had a brilliant summer.

Delph, Bernard, Tosun, Bolasie, Besic, Kenny, Lossl, and Walcott who is effectively gone, all offer absolutely nothing and are chewing up around £500k per week. I’d be throwing Gomes and Sigurdsson into the pile of players that need replacing too and you’re looking at closer to £700k per week.

Is it any wonder we’re making huge losses with that much waste on the wage bill? Really don’t know what people expect him to do. It’s a long term job.

Ground zero for me was the end of the 17/18 season when Brands arrived. Since then we’ve done ok with Richarlison Digne Allan Doucoure James Godfrey. There’s plenty of misses too and some that have been unlucky (horrible injuries to Gomes and Gbamin). There’s no quick fix though. This will take years to climb out of.

Thankfully they’re virtually all gone within the next couple of years whether they want to or not. I think in 2/3 years time if Carlo stays and the recruitment remains good then we’ll be a force. That’s why I’m dead against panic buys.

I think this is where we are most vulnerable. We need more attacking threat and more cover. Tocsun isn’t that player and neither is Bernard.
