That's not the point.

Happy for those players to go, but we have nobody - at all - other than the lads getting run into the ground in the first team.

There has to be players coming in. Simply has to happen. That's on Brands to sort out. If he doesn't, he's failed at the last chance he's got, because frankly, he's already failed as it is.

Agree I think we need one or two but my point is, even when there were here starting games or coming on as sub, they offered absutely nothing. So basically they are juat there as bodies

Looking at having the following outs and ins since the summer in attacking positions.

OUT

Niasse
Walcott
Kean
Bernard
Tosun

IN

James

Good to see the drivel out, but 3 strikers getting the boot and not a single one coming in is a disgrace.
It’s crazy. Should have kept one of Walcott or kean at least if not bringing in anyone.

Our attacking options are
. james - not a great history of staying fit
. DcL
. Richarlison - woefully out of form
. Iwobi - unpredictable
. Gordon - obviously not an option

I’m sure every other team going for the top half never mind Europe have more depth than that. We are chasing a game against a dross side at home today and bring on one player...

I don’t even mind Bernard and tosun going so much - because apart from Bernard making the goal against Sheffield United they haven’t added much from the bench. But they have to be replaced by better options surely

We are in the middle of an economic crisis, it may just be we are getting players off the books to stay afloat or while there are offers on the table for those who would be going anyway. Yes today was crap, yes we had limited options off the bench, but we ain’t a Man City. Most teams are struggling financially and aren’t spending, not just us. We may get a loan in but I can’t see much more.

But whatever you think he’s done or not done has no bearing on his position here at the club.

True. But I'd like to think that anyone involved at in that decision will look at the bench named today, look at the lack of impact any of our subs have made in league matches (2 assists combined in 19 games, no goals) and realise that it's not up to scratch.

And ultimately, I'd argue a fair chunk of fans are starting to really question him now. I'm balanced enough to see he's had to deal with a lot of crap. I want him to succeed, but there's been recruitment decisions made during his tenure which are baffling - especially this season - and ultimately, he takes responsibility, both good and bad.

If the fans turn, he won't last long.

If we miss out on Europe by three points, and we look back at key moments, then a severe lack of quality in depth is going to be a major factor.

And look at some of the massive fees and wages we have paid for players during his time here.

The fans can’t turn. We’re not in the stadium.
