Iwobi is the only real mistake of that lot; Bernard hasn't done anything but he was free and was worth a go.

The wages are a massive issue though.

Iwobi has probably gone some way to justifying the punt on him this year, but not at that price.

He's really not done a great job. Some good finds, yes, but equally some pretty poor decisions.

Walsh signed Gueye for £7m and we turned a £23m profit on him.

The fee we get for Bernard might just about cover the salary we've paid him for the last few years.

When I see the state of our squad today - which isn't actually much different to what it was in October when Brands decided not to go for anybody in an attacking area - then I can't think he's done a good job.

If we have someone in mind who'll improve us, by all means bring them in. I just really hope we've learned our lesson and aren't panicking ourselves into paying idiot money for the likes of Lingard, Alli etc

Alli would actually give us a player who likes to run into the box so that would help for the whole scoring goals thing.

But, I take your point.

Take look at that bench , consider our total lack of attacking options and tell me that Brands is doing a decent job.
Total dereliction of his duty to provide such a weak and unbalanced squad.
No way that he should get a contract extension.

Im sick of the mentality of this club/squad and the problem is Brands keeps bringing in more of the same as we get the Walsh duds out the door.

Gomes & Delph replacing bad eggs Schneiderlin and Siggurdsson

Kean replacing Toshun

Bernard replacing Lookman

Only Godfrey who he has brought in seems to have a proper fighting mentality (Allan and James both here because of Carlo before anyone mentions them).

Digne and Doucoure alright but neither truly do the nitty gritty or launch into tackles and not be bullied.

Like I've said, he's got 2 days to save his job in my book. It's all on him that it's come to this too, in regards to that situation.

He's far too passive. Promised not to leave things until late, then does just that.

Bernard, Tosun, Kenny etc - they should have been out of the door as soon as possible in this window. Get the deals done and get them wrapped up and have a plan of action.

As much as I want to blame Brands for no incomings it doesn’t help when Ancelotti keeps telling us hes really happy with the squad he has already. But genuinely how can he look at the bench today and think that’s an ideal squad for us to be looking to compete in the top 8 in the PL?

He'll be getting a nice massage on the beach somewhere in South America as we speak. He probably doesn't even know there is a transfer window open. I'm sure we'll hear from him in July though.

Marcel should be fired.
The Iwobi signing speaks for itself there was soo many options and he picked iwobi...
1 good performance out of 5 ???

Iwobi was 100% a panic buy. Tried to sign Zaha took it to the deadline, failed, put the feelers out to see who was available and jumped at Iwobi who was first on the list.

The problem now with a little over 48hrs in the window left, we are not going to be signing first choice players from other teams. Itll be the dregs they dont want as there isnt enough time to get replacements in.
It would be nice to support a football team rather than a team of abject chartered accountants.
