Any game in this league can require a sub to change it up. We didnt have 1 attacker on the bench. Where is the squad depth after almost 3 years?

Its not so much to do with Brands, but the fact we've only given 60m to Ancelotti so far shows we arent that serious about giving him what he needs. You don't even get a guaranteed quality player for 60m anymore, nevermind overhaul an underachieving squad.

Ancelotti wouldnt recruit badly though. We would have good players and far better than any DOF will find for us.

You’re basing that on an assumption on which signings “are Ancelotti’s”. If we say Allan and James they’re both nearly 30. A squad full of Ancelotti’s signings will need fully replacing in a year or two if that’s the case.

Yeh, I think both Newcastle and Everton fans would agree on paper we win 9/10 times. Our first 11 is decent when everyone is fit but we're hardly creating anything at the moment as we have a none existent midfield or width.

It is an awful lot of money but its nowhere near enough to make us competitive.

An awful lot needs to go right for us to be competitive next season. We need to avoid losing any of the 9 or 10 good players we have. Then we need about 5 quality players brought in, a keeper, right back, midfielder, 2 versatile forwards with pace and ability to carrythe ball.

I have no faith in us getting the recruitment right but it has to be right. Ancelotti won't be here forever and we can't afford to waste seasons.

2. All teams have areas to strengthen.

We literally got nothing in return for that deal bar probably saving some wages. It was like we were scared to negotiate with PSG.

Cant really blame him when you look at the state of them and the wages they are on. The wages are a massive hurdle as players wont take pay cuts.

You cant force a team to buy rubbish

You only have to see our astronomical wage bill at the AGM to understand why he’s struggling to sell horrendous players to skint clubs in a pandemic.
