I don’t really matters much to need to replace someone like Bernard or Tosun. Just because they’re quite often come off the bench doesn’t mean they contribute when they do. Could bring on a 16-year old and probs get the same output.

Personally was very happy with the Summer, personally grateful the squad is getting decimated & personally confident - if a new DoF doesn’t come in this Summer - we’ll have another decent window of Godfrey’s, Allan’s and Doucoure’s.

I'm doubtful we would get Godfrey mate, that feels far more Brandsy to me. I doubt Carlo knew who he was.

When you look at Godfrey, Brainthwaite, Nkounkou etc you can feel Brands putting more of his stamp on things. I'd be very surprised if he wasn't kept on. It's hard to know if its him or the club that are delaying the contract at present.

Yeh that’s why I said if no new DoF comes in. If it’s the same set up we’ll see another mix of ages come in.

Do you mean if Brands stays? Or if Brnds leaves and we just don't operate with a DOF?

I mean my heard would love someone a bit more radical than Brands, such as Rangnick. I think Brands is quite cautious/conservative, and I think we need to push the envelope more.

My head says, with the manager we have, the owner we hve and to a degree the fans expectations (and outlook on selling key players) there's every chance Ralf Rangnick crashes and burns long before his methods have a chance to bear fruit.

What is your feeling on why a new contract has not been signed by Brands?

All well and good, and to an extent understandable.

But this guy sanctioned £30m on Iwobi. I can't fully trust the ability of someone who would sanction £30m on Iwobi, when my mother who barely knows what football is can tell inside 10 minutes of watching him that, in her words, "he looks like he's just seen a football for the first time and isn't quite sure if he's meant to kick it."

You could easily sell Iwobi. There would be plenty of clubs who'd want him and would pay the same or a little less than that.

We got him as a 23 year old playing in the first team for Arsenal. It's not like we paid Pepe money for him. £30mill is a standard nowadays.

If all the players rumoured to be going go (Kenny, Gordon, Bernard, Delph & Tosun, Bolasie) go we are left with 17 outfield players & 2-3 working goalkeepers and any youngsters left to come in (which given Gibson, Brainthwaite & Simms are out on loan, there's not an enormous amount left).

It feels a big risk, in a season wherre covid is about and lots of games to play. If 2 on the lost stay, we are at 19 outfield players + youngsters. We are probably more comfortable. Again it's a risk, but Ancelotti seems ok with a smaller squad, and Brands wants a smaller squad. It would be nice to add one or two that could improve us, but thats a big if.

like Silva said when he signed, he was on his list of targets. So both agreed on it. But thinking that every signing should be a success is ridiculous.

Theo Walcott
Cenk Tosun
Nikola Vlasic
Cuco Martina
Sandro Ramirez
Henry Onyekuru
Davy Klaassen
Morgan Schneiderlin
Yannick Bolasie
Ashley Williams
Maarten Stekelenburg
Kevin Mirallas
Omar Niasse

Cos no one wanted anyone of these
By god thinking about the wage bill they would have totalled up, absolute disasters most of them. Vlasic probably only one never got a chance that's it

jesus, it’s always worse when written down

I mean people actually moaning that he couldn’t shift Oumar Niasse

You tend to find that the best teams operate with a very smaller “reliable” 14/15, they all know there jobs and cope when 1 or 2 are drafted in from out of the group

To me this is a clear indication of our intentions for the summer

Yeah but we need someone even if Bernard and Tosun stayed, just like we needed someone when Walcott and Kean were here.

Again, not moaning there, he's had a lot of work to do.

That shouldn't equate to leaving us with Richarlison (out of form) and DCL as our only actual attackers, mate.

We're gonna, by the looks of it, be clearing out a fair bit in wages and fingers crossed getting a fee or two for Bernard and possibly Kenny.

That has to be reinvested. It's really not a case of any ifs or buts mate, we have two attackers.

So Dom and Richarlison are going to play every match then?
