He says that because he knows if he had another DoF to deal with held have to start all over again putting said new DF in his box.

Brands is neutered now and does his Contract Marcel routine very well. Carlo identifies the players for the big cash signings, puts the agents together to do the deals, then gets Brands to complete the paperwork.

That's a division of labour I'm relativley happy with if the worst comes to the worst in June and Brands is kept on - though it does seem like an exorbitant act and huge waste of cash to keep him in his post.

No Dave, that’s not what’s meant. He’s always wanted control over the academy like they do abroad - all youth sides playing the same way as the first team so they’re ready, better chances at getting into the first team etc

We have academy managers in place but brands has been weeding out academy/scouting employees for a year or so - Atheltic reported it as well - as he wants his own people
