I don't think he has to replace anybody, he will be part of the squad and I feel will eventually be similar in style to Docoure.
We don't have a big squad of players that the manager wants to keep and I don't think there will be unlimited funds available.
Bringing a couple of the best academy players through will save a lot of money.

I get the feeling the academy is setting the bar much higher in terms of quality.
I get the feeling it's producing drones and that that is mostly due to a dearth of talent into it right now...which is why Brands' view that we must blend homegrown with purchases is a statement that makes no sense and will fail us as a strategy.

Whatever his past debacles he previously oversaw , he's here for a bit so I'm going to support his continued tenure. hopefully him and Carlo can start coordinating solutions to our glaring squad issues in the upcoming window.

Only time will tell us if we can produce more players for the first team.
At the moment it would appear that Small and Onyango are the two most highly rated youngsters but again only time will tell if they reach the necessary standard.

Just because a youngster is doing well when he is sixteen doesn't mean he will ever make the grade but I do think that we now seem to be more ruthless in getting players playing up the age groups quicker I feel that se may not in the future see academy players last as long with the club unless they make real progress.

Because Everton have no one coming through...feel free to tell us who you think will make it as a first teamer next season.

It's no good saying you'd like to blend purchase with homegrown if the homegrown isn't there.

That fraud Brands should have been pressed on exactly who he sees as first team ready.

This is exactly why I did not say I think it will happen but more hope it will happen. I said it is what we should be aiming for.

He is saying the right thing, you just don't like him. The idea is not concerning.

I am not in touch with the youth sides so can't really have an opinion on the personnel but, as mentioned, it is certainly not concerning that his plan is to mix quality signings with the youth. I have no doubt that Ancelotti or any other person in the club disagrees with him.

If Ancelotti can work with him then let's see what will happen.

So basically he's looking to spend on a couple and then promote lads not ready to the first team bench?

I hear about players like Ellis Simms and Onyango but they appear to be remote from Ancelotti's plans.
Simms is learning his trade at Blackpool in League 1. He may be promising, but he is far from PL quality.
The Blackpool manager is doing work to develop him, but is clear from the comments there is a lot to learn.
All I can see is that they will get two games in the Carabao Cup before we run into opposition where they can’t cope.
Not sure how helpful that is.

....you forgot to blame him for BMD going ahead.
According to Dave it still might not go ahead
It will never get planning ....................................
If it does it will get called in and be delayed for years ......................................
We have not got funding .............................................
Moshiri is a carpetbagger ..............................................

So the days of 24-26 yr old's in the under 23s are over
