He said he wants to leave space so people can come through, he also said a number are training with the first team daily.

If you want to know about youth you would need a youth expert, that's defo not me.

It’s the LFC model.

Get them a few PL sub appearances to up their value then flog into the Championship for an inflated fee.

I agree with you, Gordon was the most likely and he clearly is nowhere near ready.
So basically he's looking to spend on a couple and then promote lads not ready to the first team bench?

I hear about players like Ellis Simms and Onyango but they appear to be remote from Ancelotti's plans.

Im sure its something hes very much looking to improve.

But its why I really like our slim-lined current squad, room for any young talent to come through or even be bought.

Our Under18s are currently flying, its not about next year, its about 2 or 3 years from now, so players can at least see the pathway.

Carlo will play young players if he thinks they are ready or of the required standard, you cant expect every player to be ready-made at 16 like Rooney.

I dont see lads bnreaking though. All the younger talent in the last 3 years has been bought.

I would say we are miles off any academy player or u-23 player breaking into the first team.

We need excellence and that has toi be bought. Brands' words about recruitment and blending homegrown were a concern.

How do you know we’re miles off seeing an academy player breaking through when you don’t even know any of them?

So then we buy them.

Mosh is minted.

Why is it a concern, it is what every club, other than a few privelaged, needs to strive for.

You buy ready made players and then hope to have youngsters mingling with the squad and gaining experience. It doesn't always work that way but it should be the model we should be aiming for.

To be fair, anything he would have said would have concerned you as you don't like the guy.

Because Everton have no one coming through...feel free to tell us who you think will make it as a first teamer next season.

It's no good saying you'd like to blend purchase with homegrown if the homegrown isn't there.

That fraud Brands should have been pressed on exactly who he sees as first team ready.

Nailed on.

I think Onyango is quite close.

Where would he fit in and who would he replace?
I don't think he has to replace anybody, he will be part of the squad and I feel will eventually be similar in style to Docoure.
We don't have a big squad of players that the manager wants to keep and I don't think there will be unlimited funds available.
Bringing a couple of the best academy players through will save a lot of money.

I get the feeling the academy is setting the bar much higher in terms of quality.
