Remember he also fought tough and nail to keep Silva in a job.

Blokes a fraud if I've ever seen one. Every single one of us could have scouted the players he has signed here and be paid a lot less for doing so.

On any metric that you judge Brands he comes up way short.

My (limited) understanding of the role is to identify talent within a transfer budget and sustainable wage structure. He's done serious money on players who teams were looking to offload like Iwobi. This isn't a 20/20 hindsight post, but we all knew it was too money for a bang average (at best) player.

A player is only as good as his last performance, a manager on their last result, but Brands has lumbered the club with, amongst others.

Delph, Lossl, Bernard, Iwobi and, perhaps unfairly, Gomes.

Too broken, never good enough, too slight, not good enough, too slow in a league predicated on pace. Anyone of us here would have knocked those signings back if it was our signature required to sign off on them.

Why though? If we were hypothetically after I dunno, a right back called Max Aarons, how would the Euros compromise that deal? I don’t know, but people will find a way to make it an excuse.

There are always plenty of excuses for him. Who knows what it will be this season.

No doubt we will be scrambling on deadline day as usual.

I think we’ll start our first pre-season friendly without a single new face.

Erm, yes we did? None of them played any part of pre-season.

They all started first game of the season. There was barely a pre-season to speak of this season. Godfrey was last minute, these three weren’t.

And we still end transfer windows with holes in the squad.

Doesn't seem to matter who the owner, DoF or Manager is, or whether we've had money or not.

I don't want us panic buying but if our targets aren't available then a loan option should be available for the position.

The RB and lack of back up forwards this season was careless. It's very likely cost us European qualification.

I don't see the point in having a living legend as a manager and not giving him competent options.

Can't be sitting waiting on first choice targets hoping they become available, move onto plan b sooner.
