This is the one sacking at Everton I could get completely behind. Given that the owner will not be leaving, the manager has been here a wet week, is in the midst of an injury crisis, and was given peanuts in the summer, then Brands must take the fall. He is far more responsible than the manager for the grotesque state of the squad and his input - football intelligence - is worth far less to us than Moshiri's input: cash. I'm not convinced any new manager would make a much better fist of things than Benitez in the same circumstances, and see no reason to keep sacking managers when the one constant in football-related matters - Brands - is still in situ. No matter the manager, Brands has failed. Sack!
