We are in a mess because we signed
Niasse for 13.5m who went for nothing
Bolasie who we signed for 27m and went for nothing
Tosun who signed for 27m and are stuck with earning wages for nothing
Walcott for 20m who went for nothing
Iwobi 26m who we’d be lucky to get rid of for a quarter of that
Delph who signed for 10m and has contributed nothing
Klasssen signed for 24m and sold for 12
Schneiderlin for 20m and sold for a “nominal fee”
Kean signed for 26m and we’ve loaned him to 2 champions league clubs!

There have been way too many of these atrocious signings and they don’t all point back to Brands.

As much as people Blame Moshiri/Kenwright if Walsh and Brands did their jobs adequately enough we wouldn't be in the mess we are - Moyes managed to do a good job under BK with little to no money.

If Walsh replaced Lukaku and didnt sign 3x no10's and if Brands replaced Gana/Zouma and not sign a load of weak slow players like Gomes and Benard.

The one who shall not be named - 40 odd million

Plus players like Besic sitting around earning wages for not kicking a ball. This mess has been coming for a while.

Spot on.

Said this for years, Everton aren't a rich enough club to be buying players who will have no resale value. These players only come for the money as well, so their output decreases each season. At least Moyes would buy players who were trying to become Internationals or make a name for themselves in the game, so their output generally increases over time.

Even the youngsters are leaving now because they see no path to first team football, this is the gap Brands should have tried to bridge. If Everton tried to model themselves on the Dortmund model for a while, then it would at least be a plan we as fans could get behind, and generate some excitement.

We can’t afford to get it wrong.
Man U can afford to sign Van Der Beek for 50m and sit him on the bench alongside 72m Sancho and 27m Martial, the way the rules are set up they are allowed to make mistakes, we aren’t.

Of course.

But Brands orchestrated Bernard, Mina, Gomes on large £100k a week contracts. Delph on £90k

Then Walsh with Tosun, Walcott, Bolasie circa £70k+ week

All those land massively for FFP and none of which we can/could shift.

We shouldn't have multiple £100k a week signings on our books. Yet it was allowed because someone persuaded someone that these signings would be worth it
If the owner sets a strategic objective of reaching Europe then the recruitment strategy and coaching/playing tactics would have to deliver this.

Mina is according to many our best defender so if we needed him, for example, to achieve the overall objective of Europe then market economics came into play.

The earlier example of Moshiri's involvement with Tosun must be considered too.

If you do add a third party into the mix, one that is running against or interfering with the planning then you would end up firefighting as unplanned variables come into play. In many respects it looks like this is what we are seeing play out. It is wholly dysfunctional and you would expect bachelors level student to have a decent grasp of this.

Add Sigurdsson for £40m and leaving for free to that.

Laughng at poeople falling for the Brands' spin that the failure has put in place since being put in the bin where he belongs.

Here's one of the gems he fed the Echo's Kirkbride: he wanted Dumfries in the summer...when we all know we didn't have a pot to piss in and he himself had underlined that the cupboard was bare.

Then he spins away that Iwobi was down to Moshiri...even if it was true what does that tell you about his ability to be his own man...to constantly be *undermined* and then to accept another 3 year contract to be undermined for longer?

An utter charlatan from beginning to end.

Good luck at your new job - which should be laying cones for Go Ahead Eagles if his talents were being maximized.
Exactly. People feeling sorry for Brands is laughable. He weren’t so bothered about the clubs finances while he was sitting their collecting his millions for doing absolutely nothing. Why didn’t he stand his ground against Moshiri? Why didn’t he speak up at the board meetings?. Why didn’t he just grow a pair of balls and actually do his job?.
