Marcel Brands

Thing with Rondon is that he's been a roughly 1 in 3 striker for pretty much his entire professional career.

In typical Everton fashion, that seems to have completely gone out the window as soon as he rocked up lol
It's probably closer to 1 in 4 and a lot of that is playing in leagues where Niasse and that dismal Spanish fella Steve Walsh signed were banging in goals. Padded further by playing in the Chinese league. His international record is better than 1 in 3 but that's including matches against lesser lights such as Haiti and Tahiti.

He hit 1 in 3 at Newcastle but that was over a statistically short period when compared to his 1 in 4 rate at WBA. He did play very well there though.

Not sure if this is the right thread for it, but the fella Steinsson has already gone today (rather than being set to leave). Things happening fast with brands staff he got in leaving it seems. Never was fussed on Steinsson to be honest, seemed a massive jump from Fleetwood to here and it's proven to be so.

I'm betting within two years we are saying "Wow, how come he struggled here, all of his signings are good now".

Because ultimately it sounds like other disaster teams I root for. Owner hires person with good resume, doesn't let them do their job but it's all behind the scenes, so outside of rumors nobody actually knows who signed what player. Then years later the truth comes out as the owner goes hires and fired and nobody has success

whatever you think about Brands, giving so much authority to Benitiez is surely a looming disaster
More authority now with Gretar Steinsson and Dan Purdy gone. Brands brought in Gretar Steinsson from Fleetwood Town, he is a Brands' man.
Looks like a clear out. Us Fans want change and change is happening.

I'm one of those who believe Marcel Brands was allowed to do his job to a very large extent during Marco Silva time, and those signings during that period were Brands' recommendation at the very least.

But more authority to Benitez, I am very skeptical, ignoring that he is ex-Red, I don't think he has experienced such project where he has to change everything within the club. Honestly, for the sake of the club, I hope it works. I don't want to jump to conclusion now; but I am very very skeptical.
