To be fair...our better players he had no involvement with:

Walsh - DCL
Silva - Richarlison
Carlo - James, Allan
Benitez - Gray, Townsend

He's got Mina and Digne as successful signings.
 
I agree with the DBB/Kenwright calls, but not because I think it'll change anything substantially - moreso because they're just pointless. DBB is probably a nice person but should never have been given the role and got it solely to be a talking head. Kenwright is just furniture at the place and nothing more.

They're both emblematic of the problems the club has of course.

Benitez is very good in the transfer market, as his record shows. If you look at the team he got from Houllier, and the one he left them with, it's light years better. Same with Valencia and Napoli. He buys loads of players like and some don't work out obv, but a lot of managers like Howard K used to do that. You have a lot of churn but you eventually end up with an excellent side.

This is important ^^^

It unfreezes the club for a lot more managers who wouldn't countenance a DoF like Brands haunting them.

Hmm... not even sure on those two. They were a result of a working relationship with Barcelona before Brands even arrived, e.g. Deulofeu and then Gomes.

Doucoure is the only one I'd pin on him pretty firmly.
