Even he doesn't think he can do the job and yet we're desperately trying to convince him that he can. It's laughable.

looking at the rumours it seems that we will be selling Gordon and using that money to sign players because we have no money to spend.

The huge (and glaringly obvious) concern with that is that we spend the next week trying to get in the players that he wants before he decides that no it isn't enough and he can't possibly bring himself to do it, so we go for Dyche instead who would have liked a totally different profile of player and doesn't really want any of the ones we've just spunked every penny we've got on.

I think it is definitely a good thing he is sounding out the board for assurances. He will not be taken for a ride and let Moshiri & Co dictate the policy and strategy of the club. My Leeds supporting mate said he had total control over everything at the club and improved all of it vastly for the better.
If he agrees to our terms it means that he will have the opportunity to do the same.
Remember at Leeds he only signed one year rolling contracts, often letting his contract run out before signing another.
