Marcelo Bielsa

It is seriously embarrassing that a manager who has achieved very little tangible in the game and is currently out of work is effectively interviewing us rather than the other way round. Even he doesn't think he can do the job and yet we're desperately trying to convince him that he can. It's laughable.
Well the other way round has worked a treat for the last 6/7 managers like.

We say this with every manager who comes in, but I really would be excited to see how he evaluates and works with some of our prospects. A guy like Price could thrive under him. I could see Mills getting a run out. I think he’d like Branthwaite and Cannon too.

Bielsa has achieved very little tangible in the game?
so lets hire Dyche?
I'm not advocating bringing in Dyche though. My point is that prostrating ourselves before Carlo Ancelotti and begging him to take over would have been one thing, what with him being one of the most decorated managers in the game and all that. Doing the same thing to a bloke who's biggest achievements this century are getting Leeds promoted, winning at Old Trafford with Athletic Bilbao, and being nice to someone who spoke to him once in the Wetherby Whaler, is a little bit different.

Marcelo Bielsa has travelled to London for more talks over the Everton job. Still needs a lot of convincing over the squad but club hope to get final clarity soon over whether or not he will accept offer. [

I know it is a big gamble but I would like to trust Bielsa to bring us back to mid table. We may be relegated this season and still believe him to promote next year.
Actually, the next important game is in 18/2 against Leeds. 20 days and 2 good teams for us try the new tactics. It may not be enough but should have much differences than before.

We’ve needed a manager that values pace and power in the modern game for ages. The days of Davies Keane Gomes Bernard Siggurdson Kenny ‘running’ around at half pace against top opposition would be over under Bielsa at least.

It might mean the end of a few decent pros like Tarkowski and Coady in the long term but there’s simply no room in the modern game for slow players unless they are at the absolute world class level (e.g Messi, Pirlo, Modric etc.) in which case you can carry maybe one. We certainly can’t carry any and our hoarding of players without any pace has caused numerous managers huge problems.
