If this is the fella they want then they should definitely go all out for him. Any manager of his calibre are going to need a fair bit of convincing to come to a club that is not only in a relegation battle but in complete turmoil as an organisation and practically in civil war against its own fan base. What is going on is normal. He is obviously interested or he wouldn't be travelling for more meetings.

Everton just need to swallow their pride, forget about how boss we used to be. We can no longer live in the past so just do whatever it takes to get him over the line if indeed he is their preferred guy.

I’d be worried if any manager did go into these interviews and was like ‘yeah the squad’s fine; don’t even need any transfers’

If he’s putting pressure on the board to give assurances about transfers and improving the squad then that can only be a good thing


I still think there’s enough with Pickford Tarkowski Coady Mina Godfrey Mykolenko Patterson Onana Garner Gueye Iwobi Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Gray to get something out of these players with a couple of attacking additions.

If we could move on Gordon Keane Holgate Doucoure for actual money as well that would be even better.

That's how I see it. Clearly been offered the job but he's wanting assurances over the squad.

It is seriously embarrassing that a manager who has achieved very little tangible in the game and is currently out of work is effectively interviewing us rather than the other way round. Even he doesn't think he can do the job and yet we're desperately trying to convince him that he can. It's laughable.

Think Lille and Marseille had DoFs/Sporting Directors.

Reading his stint at Lille he kicked 11 experienced players out and said they could leave and brought in younger players.

100% gonna be carnage and end up like @nsno-chris said...him leaving if he doesn't get his players in.
