Marcelo Bielsa

Leeds had a horrendous injury list last season it should be remembered. From September up until Bielsa left it was a massive strain on the team (this goes up to a month before he was sacked, but it didn't get that much better in February either).

I wonder why they were so injury ridden? It's not like he works them hard during training lol

Jokes aside, I think DCLs calfs might implode

As other people have said, they've seen worse Everton sides go right to the final day and stay up, none of them were admitting defeat with 18 games to go.

This season there's 3 points between the bottom and 14th. As it stands all of those teams are in the mire - I gaurentee if we were sitting where Leicester are in 14th there'd still be people on here adamant that we're going down just like last season even though we'd all give anything for that now.

I believe a decent manager can get us 6 or 7 wins and a handful of draws from our remaining fixtures which should be enough to stay up and add a few half decent signings to that and it looks even better.

But i'm a realist also, were not in a good position, worse than last season so yes of course we can go down, very good chance of it but there's still a chance we can turn this around and stay up. Let's just wait and see. Some of us are so defeatist and that negativity spreads and seeps in. We need to be behind the team and new manager and have belief they can turn it around - not giving up and admitting defeat when there's 18 games and 54 points to play for! We're not down til we're down so until then let's just have a bit of belief. It's football anything can happen.
Well said.

…..I genuinely have no idea. I’m no expert on the global market but I know the attributes we should be looking for;

- ambitious, progressive (looking to progress his career).
- a clear vision of how he‘d organise this squad & a strategy for going forward.
- a record of immediately improving a poor team.

Of those linked I’d much prefer the bloke at West Brom, I’d even prefer Davide Ancelotti even though he clearly doesn’t tick all of those boxes.

No idea why the club are trying to entice the Managers of two teams who were actually worst than Everton last season. Let that sink in, Everton want two Managers who performed worst than a dire Everton team last season.

Bielsa satisfied most of your listed points. Not sure what you’re complaining about.

…. just forget he sits on a bucket and is eccentric. Remember this;

Leeds United conceded 13 more PL goals than Everton last season. Leeds United scored less PL goals than Everton last season.

Everton stayed up by the skin of their teeth. Leeds finished below Everton.

Only Norwich conceded more goals than Leeds. I have no idea why the club are even talking to him, never mind trying to convince him to be our Manager.

They wouldn't have stayed up if they kept him.

Bielsa has a shelf life though in jobs. He runs players into the ground quickly and that's assuming they can run to begin with.

A view from a friend of mine, who is a Leeds season ticket holder, on the Dyche / Bielsa choice:

It’s a really tough call! The only worry with Bielsa, who gave us the best football we ever saw, is he usually says he has only 1 style of playing and no Plan B… still, he blew the Championship away, but the problem was after 2 seasons in the Prem, there was a sense his ploy was fully worked out and could be negated by most of the better teams… one hell of a ride either way if he comes, it’ll change what you think football is all about!

He has an interesting history, Bielsa will either leave a hero like with us and Bilbao, or in flames, like his foray into France and Italy, he doesn’t do steady, and all the better for it.
And Dyche, for what it’s worth - I found it interesting Leeds fans have been contemplating him:

The pragmatist says Dyche knows a good number of your players and knows what the end of season fight is all about… Leeds fans were warming on him coming in to replace Marsch.
