Marcelo Bielsa

Absolutely crazy this. The best thing I can say is that it would set us down the pass to having an actual style to build on. But Bielsa would eventually need to be replaced and finding the right man to carry it on is hard.
This exactly.

There is no way Thelwell has been buying players to play Bielsa style footy.
We need a manager to compliment the players we have not force them to play a system they can't.

Thelwell has this. Not Moshiri.

Yep windmilling all over over the gaff!

Or let’s get a manager who’s style is to stand against the ropes with our guard up.
I didn’t say I’d appoint him.

I mean I would because I’ve lost all hope and it would be a laugh of punishing these players.

Why is everyone giddy at the prospect of going down “with a fight” just because we will be losing 5-2 instead of 3-0, the result is the same - a catastrophic relegation.
its between Dyche, Bielsa and maybe Ferguson thats why. There are no other options.

I think the neutral outsider would most like to see you guys appoint Bielsa. It would be a very entertaining appointment considering your league position and players. Watching the current Everton 1st team play his style of football and throwing everyone forward would no doubt yield some very high-scoring games. It it was me, Dyche is the standout candidate if you want to stay in the PL.

Imagine watching McNeil trying to press in a Bielsa system. lol lol

If you thought we had high injury levels already, imagine under Bielsa.
The squads not big enough.
This is the type of rational thinking that I just don't want to hear right now.

Come on guys give in to the insanity, let it wash away your valid concerns. Who knows where we might end up with this absolute maniac in charge.

To be honest, looking at his career record since the Chile job it's not too bad:

Improved Chile and was worshipped there, laid the foundations for their subsequent Copa America wins
Improved Athletic Bilbao, took them to the Europe League final
Got Marseille to 4th in the league which is nothing special but also fine, not a disaster by any means
Lazio and Lille were a disaster but more down to issues he had with the boards there
Did an excellent job at Leeds

Loads of players who played under him say he improved them as players.

Plays swashbuckling football which Goodison will like you'd think. Would concede goals but would score loads too.

On the negative side, when the wheels come off they really come off and there's no telling when that would be. Could be after 4 years like at Leeds, could be after 1 year or less.

Other negative for me is that Moshiri is driving this, so probably no joined up thinking has gone into this and to whether we as a club can create the right environment for him to succeed.

He’s the opposite of what our players have been instructed to do up to now.

We haven’t seen if they can play this way.

He’d need a good few additions. His style of football demands a certain level of technical ability and we may be the least technically gifted team in the league.

We have watched this team try to go toe to toe with other teams at times this year. We get carved open with ease as soon as we commit more bodies forward.

With Bielsa there's a tiny chance he could turn everything on its head and keep us up. OK, just a tiny chance, but with most managers I give us no chance at all.

He'll be gone within 18 months of course. No way he can go on that long without falling out with someone at the club.
