Marcelo Bielsa

Some of Bielsa’s play at Athletic was fantastic, naturally when you do well some players get poached off.

All you had to do was see Llorente at the back end of his career, he was near immobile.

But with Atheltic, they had good played. For Leeds, he has Dallas, Ayling, Basford and so on, they’re championship players who up their game, and end up injured because they love the fella.

Great qualities, but always a short shelf life.

Llorente was always going to end up like that though

I agree about the shelf life comment - it wouldn't be long term but I think that is what we need, someone to get hold of some of the squad and instill that into them.

I think it was more you were like, we gave him everything, as if we couldn’t do so.

No harm mate.

I’m planning for next season. Managers like Bielsa come along not very often. Players want to play for him, he’s respected across the game.

It may not be great in the short term, but long term I think it’d be a shrewd appointments
Bielsa doesn't do long term.

Interesting option but at his age is he likely to have the hunger for this particular challenge. Its a massive task for whoever takes over and will take some effort to keep this mob up.

Bielsa seems very unique individual and I'm sure our players will struggle to fit into his style in the short term.

We are a poorly run club and I'm sure Bielsa has many opinions on how to fix things and considering how things are - he will eventually butt heads with board and the owner.

There's about 3 players in that squad who have potential to press for 90 odd mins. But it's only potential

probably yes, which is why I think if he does come he will end up playing more of the youth

it will be a risk, but I could see it working - we the fans will be much more tolerant of it, and the players concerned (the youth and the squad players at risk of being replaced) will have much more incentive to do it

I suppose it all comes down to whether we want possibly slightly more competent versions of what we've had these past twenty years (Dyche) or something else entirely (Bielsa). Personally having lived through these past twenty years I'd rather the something else happen.

If it was late May not late January and we had just been relegated, this idea would have a modicum of sense to it - he would have all summer to get stuck in and make the massive changes required to transform the attitudes in the club, both on and off the pitch. Even if it was only for a couple of years.

If he manages to do that with a squad which needs 8 wins from the remaining 18 games having already lost at home to all the teams around them in the table, then he would deserve a statue.

Marcelo Bielsa - El Loco. Seems highly likely he could be the man with what journalists are saying late last evening. I went to Leeds away in August and walking to the ground there’s references to Bielsa all over murals etc, he’s a god to them.

Like most I’m frightened to death about playing high line Bielsa ball with defenders who couldn’t complete a 100 meter sprint in 30 seconds, not sure many of them would make the distance in truth (sorry Yerald).

But he brings organisation, he won’t take crap from the board and will run the players into the ground he will challenge them, which I'm not sure managers like Frank Lampard do.

We need a catalyst and that could be an old Argentine wizard. ???‍♂️

Tbf I don't know what manager anyone thinks is getting 8 wins from 18 games with this squad. The dinosaur defensive merchants like dyche, fat sam, and moyes certainly won't. All I want is a manager who will have a proper go at things
