its a thumbs up from me. hopefully he can bring the enjoyment back and we can actually look forward to everton games again.

Think the Watfords fans have a point regarding Marco.

I view him in the mould of Steve Walsh, who left a club a few weeks after signing a new contract and also about to enter the Champions League. With people like this its all about Money with no loyalty and integrity.

When it all ends up in tears we only have ourselves to blame.

If Silva gets an equally good start with us as he did Watford, and Emery has a nightmare first 6 months at Arsenal, I would be slightly worried....

Let's be honest though, there's no loyalty anywhere in football, and manager who does well with us will likely only last 1-2 years....just hope if it's a short or long stay, I can return to you enjoying Everton games (win or lose)...get some damn spirit & character back at our club

The key will be the transition from current crop to a new style and mentality. Culture change is the key. While they've served us well, the old guard have been too keen to take an easy path and not rock the boat so to speak. I'd like to see some leadership in the team, pushing on the youngsters and demanding more. We won't get that from Jagielka, Baines, Williams et al.
Spot on mate. Nothing whatsoever can be built on foundations that contain those names.

Like signings that don't happen I don't waste time on what might be and what doesn't happen but now we've got our man I read we've got a good 'un. The Guardian reports how well he has done all all his various clubs and the style of football has been attacking (thumbs up, says Ademola)... anyway it might be exciting and it might be brief (given his propensity to find pastures new) plus he's a bit controversial when sounding out on things he's not happy about.. I suppose having fallen out with Sporting the door to them will be firmly closed (and, one surmises, Benfica) but that probably won't stop Porto having a sniff if they are in decline) ... so let's hope for 2-3 years of great football, an improvement in results and, whisper it.. even a win in a Derby for once.
