Two things concern me with marco

One. He had a shocking run with Watford towards the end

Two. If that’s because he was “thinking about Everton” what happens if he does well here and bigger clubs come calling? Will the same occur?

For me it showed serious flaws

Great appointment but I just hope the guy is given the support and the time he needs to turn us into a top 6 side, especially from the fans.

I fear that we will be on his back after his first few poor results and that he'll be out the door by November.

We've become like Geordies.

I really liked what Silva did at Hull. Very nearly keeping up one of the worst squads in Premier League history was seriously impressive, as was the feat of guiding Hull to victory over Man Utd in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final. And as others have mentioned he did well to guide Sporting to their first major trophy in seven years.

However, for me it's his record at Olympiacos that's most impressive. Under his stewardship they won their first SEVENTEEN domestic matches of the 2015/16 season, eventually winning the Greek title (Superleague Greece) with ease. They also trounced Arsenal in the Champions League.

Cracking young manager.

Totally agree.

Reasons to be cheerful part 3...
All things considered following the abject dross of the previous 6 months, the last two weeks have gone pretty well according to plan.
Suntan Bob departs
DBB becomes CEO
Executive sponsor for BMD
Ryantsev made CFO
Sir Wayne gets offer from DC United
Appoint Marcel asDoF
Results in Kiev
appoint promising young manager
Davek making sense

Remains to be seen....
Releasing dead wood
Signing some ace players
A good WC
Pre-season...

Underwhelmed.

Just cannot see why a bloke who has a so-so record in the Premier League and a couple of second rate trophies overseas
can blag the job.

On the other hand, I thought Martinez and Koeman were good signings... so good luck mate. You have now become a
multi-millionaire..well done

There are only so many coaches who have won First-Rate Trophies and they all have jobs at First-Rate Clubs

I can sense a quick delve into the transfer market by Marco.

I said a few weeks ago both Silva and Brands would have been plotting away months ago.

Everton seem to be well drilled and decisive in what they are doing at the moment and I expect transfers to be lined up and completed quickly.

Wonder who will be first in...

Karius to replace Joel

I like him but I'm also worried about that. Can anyone explain why the super short spells at Hull and Watford are ok for us? I know he did well very early on, but his lack of loyalty seems off for us. It's very likely he does well enough with us even without winning anything to attract a 'bigger club'

This is the main plus point for me.

No matter about how his time ended at both Hull and Watford, he overseen an immediate upturn in form at both those clubs.

If he can hit the ground running in similar fashion here, I feel the better players he has to start off with plus the backing he will receive in the market will give him and us a very good chance of sustaining a good start.

He is not tempering expectations which is good to hear. I do hope he is up for it because there are some vulnerable teams in the top 6 that we need to try and overtake.

He did very well at Estoril.Getting them promoted to the top flight and they did very well there, finishing in fifth and fourth place. He won a domestic cup with Sporting Lisbon and the league title with Olympiakos.Hull were relegated under him, but he did take over the side in Jaunary. And Watford were in very impressive form, when we approached him last season.Im just looking forward to a new era at Everton.Hopefully Marco Silva along with Marcel Brands will bring the good times back to Goodison.

We have a lot of work ahead of us, with regards to competing with the elite sides, but as long as we see a team playing attractive football, and a team that gives it's all every week, then everyone will be happy. There's a lot of work to be done.Getting rid of the wasters that undermined Martinez Koeman Unsy and Allardyce should be the first order of business. So yeah im just really excited about this new era for this football club!
