Brands is the power broker at Everton regarding football matters. His recent elevation to the board shows the level of regards that Moshiri holds for him.

Silva will go when Brands loses confidence in him.
Not being able to buy and hardly able to sell in the January window will mean that Silva may not have as much blame put on his shoulders by Brands and the board as by supporters.

Was yesterday the west ham game for fans?

We know generally the fan base including myself were lost after martinez threw the west ham game but was wolves really that bad?

Only asking because I've seen a few people mention it and to me it wasn't. We got beat by the better team , that's all.
2-0 up and down to 10 men and he goes 2 up top by putting another striker on for our hardest working midfielder. Sheer madness.

I had high hopes in the summer, having given him the benefit of the doubt over his troubles at Hull and Watford, but he doesn't know what he's doing; just another clown who thinks that good football begins and end with telling the centre-halves to never get rid.

It would be preferable if he could see out the season, but he'll be gone in the next few weeks. One of the quality sides that are visiting Goodison in the coming weeks will put five or six in and that will be that.

I think Lampard is doing a great job but far too soon to be thinking about him

We need a top drawer manager, something we haven't had for far far too long
But a top drawer manager will not come NOW! Maybe if we had our new stadium and some decent money to spend. I do think Lamps is a good shout at this time though and try him on a shorter contract that he would accept. The guys got intelligence, experience and respect. Move to late on this and we won,t get the chance again.

The one thing I have learnt is that whoever we replace Silva with (as surely he is a dead man walking now) needs to have pedigree.

I'm not talking about dog food or beer, I'm talking about a history of success in one of either Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga or the Premier league. Nothing else matters.

We can spend all the money in the world, but as City eventually found, you challenge for nothing without a manager who had had consistent success in one of the big leagues.

So it is time for us to spend big on a manager, not someone wis maybe up and coming or a dinosaur who has never won anything, but has stature in the game. Who? Not sure. My first choice would be Portuguese as he fits the criteria above, but I'm sure there will be others out there who also do. Will be up to the club to convince one of them and no-one is saying this will be easy. But we must.

As for Silva, he got sacked from one job for not wearing a club blazer after winning a cup, resigned from another 2 for personal reasons and was sacked for losing focus at another.

The man is an utter fraud. Get him out of our club now!
Conte or look at German managers as I think that solid but effective high intensity, pressing style is the future.

West Ham was bad but yesterday we still made basic mistakes defensively and most damning of all we have no style both of these things are after six months plus. You would hope to see progress? But we are regressing.
