Tim what's with the Arteta obsession mate?
To be honest I'd play Jags before him,at least he has a slight awareness of what's going on around him.
Everything about him.
I'm fed up with managers who just understand the job they are in. I see a young coach under Pep who was extremely close to getting a massive job at Arsenal. He would unite the club which is very important because the next manager needs lots of time.
The next appointment has to be right for the whole club. It needs to give a morale boost to everyone on and off the pitch.
There would be some sort of divine irony if Steven Gerrard finally won the Premier League.... managing Everton!I’m not sure an upcoming manager is the right way to go at.
Personally I’d want someone with a bit more than 8 months managerial experience.

Sign him now!!! Ha Ha! Still a better player now than some we are turning out. What a good captain he would make.Yeah let's not, let the guy get on with the very good job he's doing at Derby first, way too big a step up for a rookie

Gerard and Lampard would get instant respect from up and coming lads on our books. as well as first team squads.where ever they went. There would be some sort of divine irony if Steven Gerrard finally won the Premier League.... managing Everton!
I think my main worry about Arteta is that I simply can’t imagine him getting angry and shouting at the players when they inevitably turn on him about 4 months in.
Sadly, Sir Alex is not available! We need someone who commands respect a track record and someone who would build us for at least five seasons. Someone who has experience of turning around bad runs and can impress his philosophy and personality on the team. It's not Lampard.
