I agree ... and a few months ago the acid test was can we play attractive football and nake the fans want to go to the games

Apparently back when he was managing in Portugal he was known for being a good defensive coach, so hopefully he can recapture that here

To be expected, and probably won't see a significant improvement for a couple of months mate as we are basically implementing new systems, new coaching and a raft of new defensive starters coming in, won't see the real improvement until we start seeing long term partnerships being formed

We've conceded 5 goals to Wolves, Southampton and Bournemouth, who are hardly attacking titans. What will happen when we play the likes of City, Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea who have great attacking players?

It's a genuine concern I feel

It is. Just knew they would score last night, fortunately we had more about us as we should and immediately stepped up a gear. Against the top 4 he is going to earn his money and forge the reputation!

I don’t think it’s comparable. We won’t be keeping as many posession in games against top teams so we won’t play that expansive football. And to be fair to Marco, we’re not conceding many from an open play. Just need to put a lot of work on that set pieces. Offensively I love our routines, need to drill the defensive ones into the players.

Now is that poor Silva tactics or stupid play by our defenders? Against Bournemouth there was no doubt it was Baines messing up.
