I think the whole point of his post was that we had an outfield 10 either suspended or injured for last nights game

Now is that poor Silva tactics or stupid play by our defenders? Against Bournemouth there was no doubt it was Baines messing up.

Apparently back when he was managing in Portugal he was known for being a good defensive coach, so hopefully he can recapture that here

4 games and 6 conceded doesn't make pretty reading though

He was, but he had two 6ft 6in CB at Estoril hence why we have brought in Mina and Zouma. I think once everyone is fit and settled things will improve.

When he gets the defenders in that he bought and they get a run in the team, we'd hope that this statistic improves. In the meantime, I can deal with us conceding an average of 1.5 a game while averaging 2+ up top.

We've conceded 5 goals to Wolves, Southampton and Bournemouth, who are hardly attacking titans. What will happen when we play the likes of City, Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea who have great attacking players?

Throw in the fact that we've also gone through 3 different CM pairings...

Davies Sigurdsson

...right down the spine of the team we've had disruption caused via injury and suspension.

Context is therefore important but I do think you're right MF, we need some consistency- i'm just hoping that comes once we have consistency in selection.

Plus throw in we still haven't seen our new 28m man.

I'm not convinced Tosun will always be first choice.

If Bernard does well, I can definitely see a situation with Richarlson is centre forward instead of Tosun with Bernard and Walcott either side of him.
