Would have helped, but we were absolutely destroyed down our right hand side, not through the middle. Hibbert and Osman were utterly found out on that large pitch by much better players. We all stood off Lampard, with our usual deep defensive line and allowed him to shoot from distance - a shot that Howard should have done better with. Usual problems of Everton of that era really. So, personally I think we would have lost anyway - might have put up a better fight with those players, but that's it. Biggest problem was scoring early. If Moyes is your manager that means over 90 minutes of backs to the wall stuff.
