I know we are not but point being we would probably be on more points but not a sniff of a challenge. He would be content and try and maintain not better that position.

True but then sniff of a challenge...a manager can show like he wants to do it but in reality they all done worse than Moyes. Unless we have a top class proven manager, fully backed by the boss it’s hard to see we will do better than getting 7th.

“What a manager”

But the team he took over were reigning champions. He was set in his ways and yes given time he would produce a steady team but just steady.
Impossible to say how he would have done. But the squad stabbed him in the back, heck, his “assistant” Ryan Giggs knifed him too as he thought it would be an easy job.

Fact is Man Utd was being held together by Fergie, who was smart enough to bail when he knew the game was up. The Glazers and David Gill were asset stripping the club and left them miles behind in terms of squad and structure.

Look at how much money they have thrown at it to undo the damage, but once you lose the spot at the top it is hard to get it back in such a competitive environment.

Let`s play your game then.

We sack him, so that means we`d still be paying Martinez / Koeman`s contracts. We`ve already paid up Allardyce`s contract and would probably have to pay Silva`s contract over a period of time, as we couldn`t afford to pay the remainder of his contract in one go.

We then have to appoint an interim manager, unless we had one lined up ( which we haven`t )

Unless we have one lined up, it`d be Unsworth - look how that worked out last time.

We`d then have to appoint a new manager, which would mean another 3 year contract, maybe compo to his club and do all this in a matter of weeks.

You may not like it Frank, but it ain`t happening.

its quite simple , Moshiri HAS to shoulder this , as he has appointed all these managers personally. so that purely on him

he then instructs his footballing mastermind, Marcel brands to appoint his manager.. which should of happened in the first place instead of having an Iranian bookeepers choice forced on him.

that should at least greatly improve our chances of getting in a better quality manager, and not just some fella who done well with Watford for 6 games

Felt the same as soon as the teamsheet came out.
Not a fan of 3 centre backs me , but if there was a game to play them it was today. Could have got the M62 between Keane & Zouma mainly covering for the full backs that just bomb on regardless.
Knew we would score a few but also knew Spurs would rip us to shreds.

We lost not because of 2 or 3 centerback. We lost because all 6 shots were savable but ends up in the net.

Did the people up there learnt and put performance related clauses in the contract after what happened to Martinez/Koeman...

He doesn't seem a particularly inspiring bloke, may just be the language barrier and his persona in front of the camera but he just seems a bit timid.

Really don't want to have to sack another manager though.
his touchline persona is that of a timid cat waiting to go out in the pouring rain, im sure he would be under a van somehere if he could be

I think Moshiri moved timely on Koeman and it was actually sooner than I thought he would.

A poor day for Silva but I still see some green shoots and think he deserves another 3 windows at least under Brands to actually construct his own team.

OK. Your opinion and perspective and I respect that. However in my opinion, Silva is doing no better than Koeman (who showed he could take 2 Premier League clubs to the Europa League) whereas Silva has done nothing in England and is now on his third club and now has a much better squad. Don't agree that this deserves another 3 windows. Koeman only had 3 in total and he had to sell his best player in the last one and didn't get his preferred replacement in (Giroud) which proved disastrous.

I would back him in January, demand a top 8 finish and an FA cup quarter final. Failing the quarter final, at least 2 wins against the big 6 in the remaining games. Anything less, then gone at the end of the season. That should be the ultimatum to him now to put some pressure on. The above would represent some sort of progress and we will all be happy if we progress this season. Currently, results-wise we are not.

True, but Dutch football is nothing compared to what it was.
sometimes its just a working partnerhip that works well together... they obviously had the right chemistry together at PSV... whether that would translate over here i don't know.. but we are looking at the players, Lozano for one that they had playing well over there so that in itself is a sign brands is looking to hook up with former colleagues

I remember a 6-2 home defeat Man U,Xmas 1977 I think,a total one off even back in the fitful 1970's for us, these type of humiliations occur far more regularly nowadays unfortunately, totally embarrassing even allowing for the standard of opposition.
