Next run of fixtures through to Man City H match in Feb will determine his fate .....lots of "winnable" matches vs. mid table fodder like us .....many labored draws ahead ?

Unfortunately the seams look to be coming underdone and it seems free fall is about to set in. The performances against the lower clubs have been appalling and we were lucky to get a point, and that’s the cause for concern. Dog awful performances

This result was nothing more than was expected and it was certainly not a personal issue, it’s the tactics that win these matches and they were massively wrong again

Xmas will, again, be telling for this club

So you think having no holding midfielder with 2 centre backs and full backs half way up the pitch is a winnable formation agst Spurs ?

We never have a proper ball winning midfielder other than Gana. Gomez Davies Schneiderlin cannot win the ball effectively no matter how hard they try or lack of trying.

Davies was brought in to sit as deep as Gana but davies is never that type of player. There isn’t much choice unless we sit deep. Sitting deep at home is open to more ridicule and not an option at all.

we were having a proper go at spurs until Squidford calamity with all 6 goals his fault, the main culprit had to be him today.

We will scrape a win against a god awful Burnley side and the fans will be back onside as we reach the dizzy heights of about 9th.

Its how Martinez nearly survived 2 full awful seasons- 5 bad results followed by 1 win against some God awful side.

After 18 games last season with various absolute plebs in charge of us we were on 25 points. After 18 games this season with just Silva in charge and a better looking and more balanced team we are on 24 points. We have to acknowledge that the progress we are seeing currently is that we have actually gone backwards results wise. We are in a time of transition and rebuild of course and cannot expect too much too soon but it would be fair to expect progression in a forwards direction at just a steady pace. We were absolute tripe before Silva came in so it shouldn't be that hard to do better and apart from looking better and being more enjoyable to watch in a lot of games (other than today) we are not doing better, we are doing worse results wise.

Silva needs to be given time and it is ridiculous to suggest getting rid of him but imo what we are seeing currently is not good enough even in a time of rebuild and transition. Questions need to be asked and answered and immediate improvement needs to be seen even if its just slight and at a steady forward pace.

He was the culprit.
But no Gana meant no cover at all for the CB's thats why he should have played 3 of them.
As it was a flat back 4 with no defensive mid the full backs should have been more disciplined as it left us way too short agst Kane & Son.

Why do we play such a high line against top teams? Our best chance is soak up and hit on the break. The Liverpool game has kicked the stuffing out of us. I hope we can turn it around.

This team is now shattered because of the keeper stemming from the derby,it pains me to say but Burnley will beat us.

A 6-2 defeat at home would previously have been an unacceptable at Goodison Park in our hey days

It’s now almost acceptable with a few grumbles and a shrug of the shoulders
It's not acceptable, it's explicable. You saw what a clueless GK can do to a game plan today. You also have no problem in accepting that said GK's calamity at Anfield destroyed momentum.
