Think it's a simple case of at aways games the regulars are in the same vicinity and can conduct and get things going in a much smaller part of the ground. At goodison they are very much likely to be in opposite sides of the ground. Also different and seemingly a more high spirited bunch at aways because of a day out and representative of Everton.
Very true, yesterday for instance no one sat down, we sang the entire 90 minutes and it was brilliant. But this season I've sat in certain parts of Goodison like the bullens and I swear there wasn't a sound most of the game

We'll it's not great is it. 27 points isn't what would have been a minimum expected given the signings and new manager at this stage.

But a wins a win and it was a bloody good one at that. Like I said in the match thread, no complaints from me today. A Christmas miracle !!

But we have another game in 2 days and look set to actually surpass that total, rendering the theory that we’ve somehow regressed since last season absolute horse manure.

Blue - Im just being honest. Everyone is allowed an opinion and not be thought of as fishy or weird?

I try and be constructive and give rational/facts to my arguments.

I am totally dumbstruck to be honest that we have spent 300mill+ and have not improved one iota in the last couple of years. I would blame just about everyone involved in managing the team and choosing signings over that period.

We are weak in every single department of the pitch, have had several average/poor managers and the worst transfer windows in premier league history.

I am gutted that plenty of young lads I know have seen no success for this great club in 24 years. The only way of stopping that at the moment is through sheer luck because I have nil faith that the owner knows what he is doing in terms of building a management team.

When someone asks you whose the best player at the club...what name(s) do you instantly think of?

You Sir are a clown

HK4 = Howard Kendall mark 4...

Couldnt imagine Howie coming up with this stuff...

The result today did nothing change my mind about Silva. If he gets a win at Brighton to back it up then he will get some credit. The spurs horror show was his marker game for me and it basically showed his Everton are a country mile off the top 6 and that he is slightly inept tactically.

Like i said my opinion can be changed but winning comfortably at Burnley isn't enough

Whilst I agree the Spurs game was a horror show, I still have absolute confidence in Silva.

The tactical tweaks against Burnley were enforced possibly due to weak options and I believe the tactics he wanted to utilise against Spurs were only let down by personnel.

The mentality the team showed to come back against anyone and play as we did yesterday showed he’s in control and we move into the transfer windows with options to grow the team.

Brands needs to identify the players who will hopefully come in and ensure we lessen the type of performance on show against Spurs.

We just need to be patient and allow the team to continue to grow - hopefully a slotter and beasty energetic midfielder come in to sort out the spine of the team.

The first half of the season under Silva has not been without its setbacks but we do at least look a good outfit and the foundations are there to add and push us on.

I noticed that the back 3 weren't taking the same chances that have cost us recently yesterday, Mina was clearing his lines not fannying about and same for Keane and Zouma, that shows they've talked about the mistakes and are learning from them. Good to see, repeating the same mistakes over and over have been many managers downfall.

Indeed, it was refreshing to see a change when previously managers have just stuck to their guns.

You speak about loving 'facts' (always reminds me of Rafael when I hear that word now) and rational arguments, then proceed to talk in hyperbole though mate, therein lies the problem.

Couple of examples for you

We are weak in every single department of the pitch.

You either mean the starting 11 is weak in every position, which frankly is ludicrous, so I'm.gonna assuming your not mental and mean in depth every position is weak, for starters, left wing has Richarlison, Bernard, Lookman, far and away not a weak position, CB has Mina, Zouma, Keane, again solid depth.

That's simple facts for you.

You also stated we have had the worst transfer window does in premier League history.

Again more hyperbole, from the top of my head, QPR destroyed their club in a single transfer window, Leeds over several ones did the same, Villa similarly sent themselves from a top 6 side to collapse over successive appalingly managed windows. Spurs wasted 100m which in modern terms was more the equivalent of a 250m spending spree. Newcastle under bfs and Walsh brought in at big expense about 15 signings all of whom flopped and ended up dragging them.down for years.
All those without having to even think too hard on the subject spring to mind.

Every manager has suffered a heavy defeat even top teams. Just a fact of football. Sometimes we give thrashings out sometimes we receive them. Hurts like hell but the important thing is to not act like a tit for too long and move on to the next match.
A sensible post. 2-6 loss to Tottenham or 5-1 win over Burnley, we have to keep moving onwards and upwards. It'll take a while...

What I'd also add, is that in spite of the poor windows we had under Walsh, we will probably not be far off clawing our money back on most of the players we signed under him. Vlasic & Lookman will go for at least £25m, Pickford you'd imagine at least £70m, Calvert Lewin & Onyekuru at least £15m. We may get £25m for Gana and you are over £200m their, which is not a million miles away from what we spent.

Thats before you look at fees for Scneiderlin, Mirallas, Bolasie, Sandro, Klaassen that we either have already, or will secure (albeit at a knockdown price). The above prices could well go significantly above that as well if they keep developing. Lads like Keane may well be sold on for a big profit, if you look at what Maguire is being quoted around at.

Then the younger lads we bought, if one or 2 of them come through, again could be some big sales.

It doesn't make the windows a success (they were very poor) but there will be some salvage from them.

Oh God !
Another ‘Chicken Licken ‘ poster.

We have a tough away game where we might surpass last seasons points - a relegation threatened season let me remind you, by one or two points.

It's hardly the bench mark.

No mate. We had 28 points on January 31st last season. We’re on course to blow that soundly out of the water. Tell me more about how we’ve regressed.

Okay mate, our children will tell stories of this season, how it blew the previous one out the water.

The point is we’re improving
Has the squad improved? Are we creating more chances? Is the football more attacking and fluid? Is it more enjoyable being an Evertonian?

For me, the answer to each and every question is yes so I really find it difficult to comprehend why some people are so vehemently glum - expectations are odd.

Obviously, there's still areas where we must improve and comparisons will naturally be made with previous totals, but in the grand scheme we've clearly improved.
