The result today did nothing change my mind about Silva. If he gets a win at Brighton to back it up then he will get some credit. The spurs horror show was his marker game for me and it basically showed his Everton are a country mile off the top 6 and that he is slightly inept tactically.

Like i said my opinion can be changed but winning comfortably at Burnley isn't enough

I noticed that the back 3 weren't taking the same chances that have cost us recently yesterday, Mina was clearing his lines not fannying about and same for Keane and Zouma, that shows they've talked about the mistakes and are learning from them. Good to see, repeating the same mistakes over and over have been many managers downfall.

He has been in the job four months.

This season is all about transition due to the upheaval in the closed season. There were always going to to be results like the spurs one, on the flip side there’s always going to be results like the Burnley one, however we are travelling in the right direction and are exciting to watch, we will continue to experiment this season to establish our identity and playing style. I fully expect us to be comfortably top six next season even challenging top 4

Four years or four months, because given some of the reactions I can’t be certain .if we aren’t challenging the top 6 within half a season of him taking over he’s apparently finished here.
I was discussing this on Christmas day: for whatever reason, the expectation by aspects of our fan base for instant success is now bordering on the ridiculous.

As said above though it seems to be modern football . People were genuinely ranting out wanting him gone unless we won at Burnley , we’ve had Martinez , Koeman , unsworth and Sam and Walsh as dof all kinds of players bought by all kinds of people and managed in various styles . To put all that behind you and build in a style you want doesn’t happen over night .

We finished behind Burnley last year , we might have been eighth but we were poor . I’ve been saying to mates from the early games, it’s next season I’m excited about . We’re going on the right direction but it’s going to take time . Because city got to the top table quickly , because we’ve spent money, because a few years ago we were next and next with spurs and probably because the RS are doing well all seem to be ramping up the pressure on a manager who has literally just arrived .
