Eh???

How is Silva to blame for Walcott firing straight at the keeper. You can bet in training he slots those 9/10. It's got f all to do with training for christ sake.

City create so many chances that it doesn't matter that they miss, because they'll get another one five minutes later. We don't.

But bloody hell, blaming Silva for not getting in the mind of Walcott and making him slot. Wow.
These are Premier League players, they should be able to shoot properly. It has everything to do with training, we create a large number of chances in every game we have played under Silva, yet very few seem to end up on target. That's down to poor finishing, if we actually practiced a bit more then we might score a bit more. Walcott firing straight at the keeper? well that's just poor decision making which is a job for a sports psychologist, again another aspect of training/coaching. At the end of the day, i never wanted him in the first place because he is a second rate manager and i have not changed the view, but he does deserve time to show what he can do although i don't see him doing anything.

I don’t think relegation is likely
so I suspect Blue Bill and the carpet-bagger will persevere with Marco til season’s end at least. Having said that, his interview at the end of the game revealed a man whose mind has wandered off the reservation. And the haunted look in his eyes...he looked like a man tormented by terrifying demons.
Perhaps a short lay off is needed...I have seen madness consume a person...it’s a disconcerting thing to witness.

The problem is Ijjy - We've spent above average quantities of money on these players and manager

If we'd have spent wisely over the past 3 years, I firmly believe we'd be challenging for top 4 this season

We had one chance to make a dent in the league and we blew it - Which is why Steve Walsh and Koeman should be absolutely vilified on these pages - They've essentially ruined the short term (and maybe more) future of the club

Absolutely agree.

Rebuilding a squad takes 3-5 years and they've left us Gueye, maybe Pickford and Keane as useful players. So basically we are back at the start of the 3-5 year cycle just 3 years after starting one. They were stunningly incompetent and as you say we are going to feel the effects for a long while.

who has had 3-5 years to re build a squad putting in performances like this ???

Have you just read that. Kane, comparing Napoli front 3 an putting lookman into it like he’s gonna break through an become a star. Never happening he’s another flash in the pan just like the likes of Bolaise, Babel, Traore, Elia they can run that’s it no end product or instinct match winning ability. Sad and desperate times when we think he will be a key player.
If that happens then it happens. But in our squad currently who has a chance of breaking through other than him and Richarlison? DCL? Probably not. Bernard? Not looking likely. Walcott? To never even give him a proper chance is madness.

People on here myself included never thought Kane could keep it going. I guarentee no one thought that Lavezzi and Cavani, two small signings, were going to push Napoli into the top of Italy. And we don't know who next person to do that for a club will be either.

Awesome. Name a successful manager in the PL then that we should get?

Ponchettino had a 33% win % at Espanyol and a 38% one at Southampton, wow! What credentials!
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had a 30% win % at Cardiff City. He had a 55% win at Molde. Are those better credentials than Silva?
Nuno Santos didn't do as well as Silva did in Portugal, not even close, but he did okay at Valencia before that...does he have better credentials than Silva?

Klopp and Sarri had no PL experience before they got to their current jobs. How on EARTH have they managed to hack it in England?!?!?!?!

Look, he has the credentials, he has plenty of experience as a manager, but the players aren't good enough.

A good manager will make a system of play and formation from the players he has (Working to their nstregths) NOT put players in to a system and style of play that doesnt suit them or they are incapable of playing......

Maybe. But I’ve nearly had enough of the likes of Sigurdsson being so highly thought of as he whacks another set piece into a wall.

it looks a lot like burnout to me.

silvas style is taking its toll plus the amount of games in succession.

thing is Silva himself should of realised that his style would need reigning in, at start of season. surely hes seen the Rs and city struggle when first asked to play this style...

Tim, we've played 11 home games in the league.

We've won five, drawn three and lost three.

Yes, it's crap at the moment that we've not won in four at home.

But that record isn't 'a disgrace'.

I know you love your hyperbole's, but bloody hell. Four away wins in the calendar year of 2018 is more of a 'disgraceful' stat, surely?

5 out of 11 wins isn't good enough in any case.

But considering the only good team we've played at home is spurs, then it's especially bad.

I'm not calling for him to go. But I definitely think he has to do far better. That's not hyperbole no matter how many times you say it is. Our away form has been muck for years. So if our home form continues to be bang average, then we are going to be in the bottom half. That's not an acceptable position for any Everton manager.

Yet our run before that of five wins in 7 was top six form.

We aren't getting relegated.

I don’t see how can we break into top 6 if we do not get 7th now. It’s blind faith to think everything will be alright next season. Things went downhill since the RS game and he shows no sign to turn this around.

We’ll have another chance when big Uzzy comes on board officially. Can’t be long now before Moshiri gives up trying on his own and calls upon his Uzbeki mate.
