This is what’s baffling me. It’s not the same setup. At the start of the season people could easily get on board with what was trying to be implemented

But that’s just gone now
Exactly. Same issue Martinez had. First season was wonderful but sussed out by Crystal Palace after THAT Arsenal match. And he scrapped EVERYTHING about it and went to pass-pass-pass-pass-pass-pass-pass-lose possession.

I've really no idea what Silva's idea of playing *is* anymore.

I'd love to know what goes on in training because the team lacks what it had at the beginning of the year. The pressing is gone, that's just literal fundamental stuff. It's not even confidence. Closing down the opposition is literally just running at them. Confidence plays no part in it but that's completely gone.
the pressing has gone cos the players are all goosed from said pressing style.

Klopp had same issues for first couple seasons.

We will have a lot of away games now... It´s going to be very difficult, starting with the Saints

We've been a lot better away from home tbf, our performances in defeat have even been better than some wins at home.

We've only got spurs of any decent calibre left to play away now, so I want to see a lot of wins until the end of the season.

A lot of justified criticism of the sideways and backwards passing today. Interesting to know whether that's at the insistence of the manager or a matter of players not making the runs when they need and those further back not being confident enough to try and make those attacking passes and opting for the safe option instead.

Statistically though we're two points off 7th and have the best goal difference outside the top 6. At least that's something slightly positive. And for the record DCL is fast.

Got to be honest, after nearly every game he's moaning how we play too slow, are too passive and sideways so I really don't think it's what he wants the players to do. Just shows it needs time.

Bournemouth played very well and must wonder how they lost 2-0. Very impressed by them and goes to show how "little clubs" are no longer push overs. Excellent pressing and passing throughout. Although we deserved to win, we had to dig in hard to beat them in terrible conditions for football. Howe has done a good job there and will probably move up "higher" before too long.

Last 4 games they’ve conceded 15 goals

So you were not impressed by Bournemouth today? Best Bournemouth team display I have seen at Goodison. Fair enough, it is all opinion. 2-0 was harsh on them.

You know I would take “being horrible to watch and winning ugly etc” but defensively we are so poor. I get that sinking feeling every time a team is within 30 yards of our goal, I have no confidence we will stop a shot.
