With Kenwright he'd have been nailed on, thankfully with moshiri I don't believe he will. I know his managerial decisions have hardly been great, but thankfully they've not been sentimental ones. If Silva doesn't work out he's surely looking abroad next?
Not sure about that, Moshiri has appointed 3 and two of them have been flavour of the month, if anything Kenwright did better when he went to the lower league and found the perfect man at the time.

I'd love to know what goes on in training because the team lacks what it had at the beginning of the year. The pressing is gone, that's just literal fundamental stuff. It's not even confidence. Closing down the opposition is literally just running at them. Confidence plays no part in it but that's completely gone.

This, our pressing is horrible. Disjointed individual effort to press will achieve nothing. We press without shape and press just for the sake of getting close without actually having a plan to close down as a unit.

We may not always win the ball but the key is to force a mistake out of the opposition and to devoid them of any passing options.

Lack of fitness may well be the main cause but having said that our pressing is woeful in the first half today, it can’t be fitness. Surely had to do with our defensive tactical shape.

It's lunacy to even consider Marco's position this early into his Everton career. He is a good fit for Everton and he needs to be given time. I know things are not good enough at the moment but the only thing that will fix it is time.

I witnessed some awful Everton performances when Kendal was in his first stint as manager. It takes at least 3 to 4 seasons to remold and reshape a team. By all means, let the players know what we expect of them. Marco knows what we expect and we need to let him know that we are behind him. He will repay that faith.

I think mainly that is down to several things.

Our players become over committed to attack (including full backs) only for the sloppy pass (too regular) to leave us exposed and out numbered many times in the middle of the park.

Our CM is not protective enough to our defence.

Our over commitment often leads to chances for us but it certainly helps the other team also because the ball retention is not our greatest strength.
Richarlison when playing CF cannot play with back to goal and 9-10 loses possession through either miscontrol or looking for a foul.
Until we have the players that can lose markers and pass quicker and more accurate then the problem will remain.

I think the defence as a unit is OK but we usually leave gaping spaces with marauding our full backs and weak or out numbered CM presence.

This is pretty much it. That's why Gana is so valuable. It's critical to have a defensvie midfielder (or really, two) that can support both sides of attack and he's our only one with enough athleticism and ability to stop the counter. However, we have to stop giving the ball away so often. Our right side wasn't as bad today in that department, although Lookman and Bernard gave it away a few more times than you'd like. Conditions had a bit to do with it today, but in the future, that lineup is probably the right one.

It's true Richy doesn't hold the ball up that well. I would be LOVELY to get someone that can. Not sure if that's going to happen in January.

You just have to look at the squad.

Players signed by Marco: Digne, Mina, Richarlison Bernard, Zouma, Gomes.

The rest of the team is a hybrid of mismatched players from the Moyes, Martinez, Koeman and Allardyce eras.

And you thought you thought you had stress at work. :)

Today in the second half they got stuck in. Not pretty but gritty. However said he had lost the dressing room is talking rubbish. I think he will do well in time.

I’m tired of hearing this now, people championing our performances at Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Man u. We have picked up 1 point from those four, and 2 wins away all season. That’s not even mentioning the capitulation to Bournemouth, the pathetic performance at Brighton. The away league table has us 14th. 14th. And before people say the performances have been an improvement at the top clubs: we lost to Man U, Liverpool, City and Arsenal. All before Christmas.
Yes. but getting closer.

Time can work both ways and he may put us further in the gutter...then suddenly u are competing with Aston Villa...

THIS!
So many on here (if around) would have been joining in with the idiots calling for "Kendall out" in the early 1980s
Patience is a virtue.
