He has to give the FA Cup a go. I'd take a replay all day now against Millwall and beat them here. I don't think he will mess around too much in the cup going forward

Maybe not the league, but a domestic cup shouldn't be beyond our expectations over the next 3 years. Fa cup is where it's at - no two legged semis like the carabao so you can catch the big guns on an off day.
That added two leg quarter/semi is such BS. Single game, penalties if nothing is what the Carling Cup should be.

I agree to a point, but I think it’s relevant to talk about those games at this point.

We had a hard fought win yesterday where we didn’t play well but gutsed it out. A lot of people then come on to say we didn’t play well it’s terrible. But then when someone says we played well in some other games, it gets shouted down by saying we didn’t win them. So is it just the points that matter then? Or is it the performances? We can’t have it both ways, just criticising for criticisings sake. Obviously we’d all love for us to outplay the opposition and win every week but we’re a good few years off that yet I think.

To me it’s a positive. I look at us playing well and competing against good sides, and then us battling and winning games when we’ve been poor, and hope that at some point we can put the 2 together.

I’ve no idea if silva is the answer but this tiresome questioning of him regardless of the result/performance is not doing anyone any favours really.

I think it’s more the fact that everyone could see we were lucky to get the win yesterday. Another day, we have lost that before half time.

What worries me is we have looked vulnerable every single attack, and we have 2, matbe 3 players you would call a legitimate goal threat.

One thing I noticed yesterday was the players reaction to the manager. There is no way Silva is unpopular or not liked. Yes results have been iffy but he seems to have the dressing room right on his side. Zouma's reaction after scoring, Digne was over having a man hug, he doesn't shout at them he treats them like adults and there seems to be a respect. I hope he stays for the long run

He should take some credit for Lookman too. Could have took the easy option and sold him but he stuck by him and hopefully we benefit from it.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has called for patience from Everton fans as the team develops under Marco Silva.
The Portuguese took over at Goodison Park last summer after Sam Allardyce was sacked after six months in charge.
Allardyce was dismissed after Everton finished the campaign eighth in the Premier League, two places higher than the club currently finds itself under Silva.
But Sigurdsson is confident Everton can challenge the top clubs again under Silva and says the new manager needs time to make his mark.

"Of course, yes, it does take time," the midfielder told Sky Sports News.

"It's his first season, when he came in he wanted to make changes to the way the club plays and how he wants to move the club on in the future.

"It is a process when a new manager comes in and I think he's doing a really good job at the moment."

Sigurdsson has been a regular under Silva this season making 28 appearances in all competitions and scoring nine goals.
Everton travel to Southampton on Saturday with games against Huddersfield, Wolves and Watford to follow.

The Toffees are nine points off the top six and the Iceland international says they will not be happy until they make more of an impression in the top half of the table.

"Not just as a club, but as players and for the fans we would want to be higher up in the league," he added.

"When we were sixth in the league I don't think any of the players were happy because it's about where you finish the season and we kind of feel the same way at the moment and we're not happy.

"Our aim is to finish the season in a strong spot."

Uh oh.
