Dont they tend to go for the superstar coach in recent years?

Indeed. From one of the greatest coaches in their history in Jupp Heynckes, they went for Guardiola and Ancelotti. And sure Guardiola did very well and Ancelotti won the league, but neither took that next step in Europe that Bayern desperately wanted them to do. So that makes it interesting too, becasue Nagelsmann has about 5 minutes experience in Europe, and Tuchel has 2 seasons, first of which was rather diassapointing in the end, and the 2nd rather cruely messed up by a bus bombing.

I was convinced it was going to be Nagelsmann, but I honestly think now that maybe they will think it's just too soon, the guy is 30 years old for goodness sake :D

The sensible way would be Tuchel - he could do 8 years there and Nagelsman would still be amazingly young for such a job as Bayern, meanwhile Nagelsman goes into a bigger job or two and proves himself / or fails not on Bayerns dime

Apart from a tin pot club in Portugal he's spent the entirety of 1 season at any club.

One. Whole. Season.

Winning a league in a two horse race in Portugal and Greece doesn't wash well with me to call him quality.

Bit like Pocchetino and his 18 months at Southampton?

Aside from the three years he had at espanyol?

Can only manage who you manage, so what if he’s only started at Estoril. He’s actually won more trophies than Pocchetino... so?

Yeah, thought so.

His post match interview was funny he got asked about zonal marking on DCL goal and he totally spat his dummy
call it luck or whatever but he got humbled yesterday by a caretaker managers brave substitutions

Oh come on.

They were desperation substitutions when we were trailing and being schooled.....hardly "brave".

And as @bluestevon says, their goalkeeper and centre half stay sound, that comeback would probably not have happened

Not that I'm complaining or owt.....just keeping things in perspective :)

If we were appointing Allerdyce wouldnt it have been announced by now, seeing as he's not tied to any club? Seems to me is that the delay is because its someone at a club or a bigish name we are trying to convince.

La Liga - better than Greece and Portuguese league. Saved Espanyol from relegation and kept them in the league.

Olympiancos have won the league in Greece pretty much every year since 1996.

As for Sporting...he won a cup in a 3 horse race (battle it out with Benfica or Porto)

As for Potch - Finished 8th with Southampton after selling big players, their highest points total.

Has now spent 2 seasons at Spurs challenging for titles.

Until arle Silva stops changing clubs like his socks, I maybe impressed.

End of the day, he was a free agent in the summer and only Watford went in for him.

we had a huge amount of luck finally tbh mate, even down to their normal pen taker Deeny being suspended who frankly would have buried the equalizer.

I think he's a decent manager and it wouldn't be a bad appointment as he seems to be on the up but I can't see it happening now. If we could somehow convince Big Sam to go until the end of the season and then come back to Silva it might give us a chance of getting him.
