I wonder why those Watford fans mention some kind of 7pm announcement from us??
Announcement you say????

In my opinion (any many others) Hull were so far gone and he performed almost a miracle. If he hadn’t got Hull in to a position where they could have actually survived I bet your opinion of him would be higher.

You surely can’t use the result against us as a stick to beat him with.

;):p:hayee:

In any case, who would you want in instead that would do a better job? Don’t say Ancelotti or Simeone.

But the actual reality is he did get Hull into a position where they “they could have actually survived”.....should have survived, in fact :(

But he blew it.....against Sunderland

Watford have just lost three games in a row

I must have fallen asleep and woken up in Bizarro World or sommat, a place were everything is the opposite of what it is here on planet Earth.

Or in an airy fairy world were people are so desperate for happy news they close their eyes to what is blindingly obvious.

That Hi Ho Silva’s year in England has been pretty meh.

But to be honest with you, it is not so much the hiring of him that is puzzling me....it is the very idea that we would pay ten million quid to get him.

That is just nuts.....because he could well be out of a job at Christmas if Watford keep on at the rate they are going and we could have him for nowt :pint2:

The mad thing is that if Watford lose on Sunday to make it four defeats on the trot, he will likely be installed here on Monday morning as their owners will gladly take the ten million being offered

Only flaming Everton would be breaking the bank to entice a bloke with his recent form into the club ;)

Thing is though K the last 3 defeats they'e had, they should have beat Chelsea by 3 or 4, they missed guilt edge 100% sitters to coast to victory, and the same for an hour against us as well. It just shows you how things can change in football though.

What I would also add is if I was a Watford fan, even though they lost against Chelsea and us ( and Stoke but I only seen the highlights of that and that looked like a close game) at least they played some good football and I'd be feeling quote positive about my teams prospects. When we were getting beat we'e been playing as bad as I can remember for a long time. We can take the defeats on the chin if there has been a performance to take some positives from but we haven't been able to say that much this season have we..

It does seem he is on his way here. That's tough for Watford but his stay with us may be also short lived, though they would be right to be peeved after just a handful of games.
We have our place in the food chain, as do Watford and outside of the elite, there is no such thing as loyalty and long-term commitment.

You would hope at the least though that he would see out one contract with us in full; if that's 2 1/2 years then fine. We have to get used to comings and goings, it's the reality we are in unless somehow we can get ourselves together and mount some degree of challenge to the top six.

It's a risk for him if he has his eye on better, which begs the question as to what is success at Everton. I don't think a return to the Koeman status quo of 7th/best of the rest is going to attract much suitors here or abroad. So if he does come the job is massive.

It brings into focus again the DoF. I don't get the impression Silva was the top target all along, he just seems to be the last man standing that is acceptable generally to both board and fans. We have really botched the whole process. He would join a club bereft of clear purpose and organisation but money talks.

Ultimately if he comes here and does well enough to attract a more powerful beast, then I'm happy to settle for that. For me, losing an Everton manager because he won something or otherwise made us competitive, although tough, would be a price well worth paying.

Oh not you as well, Mac :(

You are too venerable a gentleman to be taken in by all these hard luck stories :p

Best case scenario.....he is a good manage, but he is unlucky.

And we don’t need no steenkeen unlucky manager round here

The problem is though mate, knee jerking is difficult full stop.

At Hull he took over a side which was as poor as Sunderland and got them competitive quickly. He nearly doubled their points per game tally.

This season at Watford I actually think is his worst job so far. Thats not to slate the guy, but rather to state what a good job he has done elsewhere. Watford were 17th last season and he has got them playing good football, though like you I'd have been interested to see how he'd have dealt with this current downturn in form. That being said I don't think many Evertonians want to wait another handful of games.

If I was Watford I would be looking at things now, and thinking 4 weeks of posturing with Everton could well harm them more than Everton. We have an inviting set of fixtures and the possibility that Unsworth may steer us to relative safety. If he gets the hump and throws the towel in, they could find themselves in a very tricky spot as the games come thick and fast. It could quickly quickly become 10 defeats out of 12 or something with them in and around the bottom 3.

In most of these situations common sense prevails, but not before every party has to what I call moralise their own discourse. Watford have to engineer it that they've tried to keep him and he's a traitor, while Everton and Silva have to make it look like there's been no tapping up.

From this point on I won't pay too much attention on Silva's performance, it's almost an impossible job, being at a club who go through a manager each year, with players who tend to down tools when they know a managers going. I think it would be a big risk for Watford to drag this out much further, with the way games are coming thick and fast. If they mess about too much they could find themselves towards the relegation place quickly.

and I'm sure if he transformed us , and got us top of the league by Febraury, then he would be on his way somewhere else too.

its how the world works.

Do well (ish) in his case, and move up.

I've thrown my name into the hat K, but the hat had a hole in it and my name fell out hence why I haven' been appointed yet :(
